Intro video...Eric church
Re: Intro video...Eric church
Nice picture...I am an appalachian alum that grew up a carolina fan as well and own carolina items...am I dead to you as well?
Can anyone post the picture of EC at his Ann Arbor concert weeks after beating Michigan...he did the entire concert in his Appalachian football jersey. I am sure that went over well at that concert....but he still did it cause he loves ASU. Or maybe you could post a picture of his tour t-shirt that he is wearing an Appalachian hat in. Or maybe you could look up the name of his first born child.....BOONE
Get over it guys...he is trying to do something good for HIS school and you guys are going to kill him over it...losers

Well, I'm done here. As a "loser", I don't qualify to comment anymore.
There are a lot of things Eric Church can do to represent his alma mater. Replacing Sean Connery shouldn't be one of them. He could dome something like introducing Connery.

Re: Intro video...Eric church
I apologize...that was a poorly chosen word. Not losers, as we are all part of the Appalachian family. That was bad on my part
I just think the intro was a HUGE improvement over a clip from a movie likely half the people at the game have never seen. Seems like getting a famous alum that wants to help is a good idea....no need to kill him off for liking carolina too

Do y'all think Florida Georgia Line is going to endorse Georgia Southern in their intro video?

Re: Intro video...Eric church
If I were GSU I'd sure get them on the line, and Luke Bryan as well. It's shocked me how fast FGL as climbed. Just saw this past week where they are launching their own headlining tour, and they've had what...3 singles? And not small venues either, playing Greensboro Coliseum, etc. Pretty Crazy. If I were the Eagles I'd get those guys and Luke Bryan and find another up and coming alum, preferably female, and package them together and sponsor the tour. Would be a heck of a recruiting tool. Be pretty nice if we could work something out with EC on a tour. We could always use a few more students from far away states, help those diversity numbers you know.Gonzo wrote:Do y'all think Florida Georgia Line is going to endorse Georgia Southern in their intro video?

The guy grew up in Granite Falls, went to ASU, has played on campus numerous times within the last six years (I saw him there at least four), released his sophomore album at Legends, and is one of our more famous alum that isn't associated with football. It's also something original, and isn't a digital clip of a mediocre movie.ASUMountaineer wrote:What if it were OCMS doing the intro?T-Dog wrote:Some things shouldn't be messed with. Good Lord ... some people are all too eager to shove tradition by the wayside for a People's Magazine moment. Glad Eric on the big screen makes you feel proud. Interesting to know if Eric even attended football games while at App.ASUMountaineer wrote:What if it were OCMS doing the intro?T-Dog wrote:Some things shouldn't be messed with. Re: Intro video...Eric church
Seems like a thread for the haters for sure.
I'm not sure what's wrong about an ex-student with a little fame trying to help his school, but I guess the saying that "no good deed goes unpunished" is true for some. I can see using a generic movie clip when we can't actually get anything designed for us, but when you actually have someone the students can identify with why not go for it? The way I see it, the old clip wasn't made for AppState, Connery may not even know APP State, or even knows why we want to play it.
To me when anyone nationally known is willing to say they're from App State it's a plus (except maybe the "such as" girl).

I don't know if Florida Georgia Line will, but could definitely see Luke Bryan doing it. Between the 2 of us (App & GSU) we have produced 2 of the hottest current country Acts. I think it would be great for both schools to fully embrace Eric & Luke.Gonzo wrote:Do y'all think Florida Georgia Line is going to endorse Georgia Southern in their intro video?
I have been saying for years, the school needs to work with Eric and have him do a stadium show the Friday night before the Homecoming game. Sell tickets for $25 or $30 with $5 of every ticket either going to the Appalachian Fund or YOSEF. I would imagine they would sell 20,000 plus tickets.

I know people can't change schedules that fast, but the time to so it is when the team is down.AppDawg wrote:

The sad part would be after the concert everyone would find something wrong with it. They couldn't get a good view because of the track, we actually had to cover his expenses, we didn't ask Sean Connery to introduce him, we broke tradition because the stage was on the wrong side of the field, it would have been better/worse if Jerry Moore was here or we weren't changing to the FBS.
And I'll be the first to say I'm not blameless.

Look, I don't listen to country music, and couldn't name one of Eric Church's songs. I didn't say I welcomed the change, Fishy...I simply find the griping about something so inconsequential to be ridiculous. Given what I saw on the field the past two weekends, there are much bigger things to be concerned with.
I didn't really think much about the new intro until I saw this thread, now I'll be looking forward to it at each home game.
