The BOD

Unread post by DaphneUrquhart » Sun Sep 08, 2013 7:54 pm

Looked like stronger numbers and sharp performance last night. I was glad to see the removal of James Taylor's "Carolina in my Mind" from the pre-game show, too. While I love that song, it has never seemed like an App song to me.

Also liked the Jaws shark! Nice job of hanging onto traditional marching band while giving a bit livelier show.

Here's to the BOD!

Someone needs to school the drum major when NOT to play. Seems like they got into a bit of a whizzin' contest with the Aggie Band in the 4th qtr. Impressed with that Aggie bunch in the post game show. Could have done without the PA guy but musically they were exceptional.

At least, he set up what the band was going to perform. Unless I missed it, our PA guy didn't even provide the theme for our halftime show.

You missed it. He said it was music from classic movies.

Yes, the BOD sounded good - not great, but good. I liked the new intro to the Alma Mater.

I really missed Kashmir (Led Zeppelin). I know they may get tired of the same old, same old. However, that was a classic that was a hit with the student section every time it was played. For my vote: Bring back the Zeppelin medley.

The problem with the shark & the fancy designs, is that the crowd could only figure out what was going on by looking at the big screen. I was in row XX at the 40 yard line & still could not tell. We need less marchin' & more playin'.

And, if they going to have a bass player on the field, they need to get him an amp and let him play. He might as well have been unplugged. Did anyone else even notice the electric bass player?

An electric bass guitar? Geez! Sure hope the BOD isn't heading down the path towards that thing WCU calls a band.
