Game Balls: Stink

When you score 55 points, you have a lot of game balls to give out. I went Oprah last week, and I’m tempted to do it again, but I’ll go with Joey Dimes. He was 23-36-1 with four touchdowns. Who would have thought he would set a single season record for touchdowns? Great job, Joey.

Entire team discipline..only 1 penalty for entire game.
OL...very good pass protection all game and a 100 yard game rusher.

In terms of fewest pre-snap penalties, App is ranked #1 in FBS.
Radical change from the recent past, and a welcome one.

Penalties are drive killers.

It really sounds cliche but in this case it's really true. The past several wins have simply been total team wins. I really don't see a weakness. Both lines are dominant and don't commit penalties. The running backs run HARD and have picked up key first downs when needed and have made huge catches. The receivers are dynamic and are, at times impossible to slow down. The back 7 on defense flies to the ball and rarely get burned. Other than that return yesterday special teams has done great. We have had several kickoffs where the opponent has failed to reach the 25. Michael Hughes is money. Joey. Nothing left to say. Coaches have been fantastic in every aspect with great adjustments.

And special teams did cause a fumble and recovery yesterday as well.

Let’s give one to the students and fans. Sitting at 3-4 they both still showed up every game. Amazing to think we had 31k in KBS Thanksgiving weekend.

And I would add the pass rush. Even though the sack total wasn’t high, we harassed their QB’s and the INT’s were a result.
