We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Does Clemson jumping out to a 28-0 first quarter lead over NC State change our reaction to just how bad our first quarter was in Death Valley?
It does mine.

Y'all, we've just been playing everything super close to the chest and are changing everything next week to confuse Burger and Liberty!
Hmmm, sounds like I've heard this before...

Alright. Did anyone watch this Liberty ECU game last night? See anything interesting?
I see Liberty won 35-24 but ECU was leading entering the 4th quarter. So Liberty is hardly a juggernaut.
This IS a winnable game for us, assuming our players have the guts to this thing around. I’m over talking SAL and hypothetical coaching changes. Let’s go App.

With our defensive lapses hard to be excited about what lies ahead. Expect opposing QB’s pass at will and carve up the DB’s. Little push from DL and mediocre LB play lead to high scoring games. We have to fight to keep up. Defense still wins championships and we lack in the department.

Watched the first half. Liberty started slow, but their offense started to click in the second quarter. Their scheme will give an undisciplined defense trouble. Hard to get pressure on the QB because of the quick routes.
Our offense should be able to move the ball, I’d expect the winner to score 35.

True, but I’ve also seen us give up 63 to UNC then hold Texas A&M to 14, only seven days later.
College football can be stupid but that’s why I love it.

The pattern of the Liberty v ECU game was similar to our game with ECU. Liberty made mistakes and ECU jumped out to an early 17 point lead, but couldn't hold on. Liberty is a run first team but can throw. They seem error prone if they go to the passing game though and they commit tons of penalties. We should have opportunities but obviously, we can't play lack luster like we did against USA.
I still think this could be a good season, but obviously something needs to happen. I think we have the athletes to compete with anyone in the SBC (or Liberty). Just praying for that light to come on. Sloan and Ponce both need to figure some stuff out and light a fire. I want to see that Joey magic.

Need a win. Badly. I’m concerned about a snowball effect if we don’t stop the bleeding Saturday. Two tough road games follow.

App state is a home dog for the first time since 2021.
Prior to that I believe it was 2017 wake forest.

-5.5 is disrespectful to Liberty if we’re being honest.

It looked like the Chadwell teams we saw at Coastal. Innovative offensive plays to find playmakers in space, ball control, converting damn near every 3rd/4th down, etc. Liberty took advantage of a ECU red zone turnover in the 4th quarter. The QB is slippery ala the South Alabama QB.
ECU could have won, but as we saw, they have trouble closing.

Have you seen any indication that we can run the ball and control the clock the way we did at A&M?

Not super looking forward to this game, but I hope the players and coaching staff listen to the former players on Twitter and “let ya nuts hang”

I have not. But I did see Vanderbilt lose to Ga State and then turn around and take the #7 team in the country to OT.
I also saw JMU score 13 against an FCS team and then drop 70 on an ACC team in their next game.
College football is stupid.

How our team starts the game will tell me what I need to know. Another slow start and the TV gets turned off. Screens to our fullback and the TV gets turned off. A 65 yard post pass for a TD against our D and the TV gets turned off. 7 missed tackles on one play and the TV gets turned off. You get the gist.

This game will speak volumes about this team. Anything other than maximum effort and solid win will be deflating. If you get curb stomped and don’t come out with your hair on fire you just don’t have it. Let’s see how it goes.

We are 3-point home underdogs, according to opening betting lines on ESPN. Yikes.
When was the last time we were a home underdog to a non-power conference school?
