Foster, who was in his second year as the Bruins' coach, went 5-10 during his short tenure and began this season with a 43-10 loss Utah at home followed by back-to-back losses to Mountain West teams.

Not sure. However, I am sure some kids will take advantage. Wish they were required to stay at school to finish semester.... hopefully that is how it works.

They are not eligible to play for a new school this season. But any of them who haven't already used it would be eligible to redhsirt since both schools have only played three games.

Wow, that is an odd one. Can't imagine the behind the scenes logistics that will go along with a merger of universities. Do they keep two campuses, name change, sports team mergers, faculty mergers, coaching mergers, there are a ton of questions and I am curious how this will shake out.

The higher education landscape is changing as birthrates began to decline at pace starting in 2008 coupled with the cost of higher education. If the influx of foreign nationals also declines the percentages that pay "full tuition" will decline as well. We're likely to see more of this in the next decade, Queens and Elon are getting ahead of that trend and will take a page from corporations looking for scale and synergies.

If I could short the lower quartile of colleges around the US I'd put some money on them to follow this path or worse by 2035.

From what I've read about this (my daughter is a Queens alum), the two campuses will still exist but Elon will run both. Queens will retain some sense of identity but will not likely remain known as QUC. Not sure how athletics will work.
