When you hear a player say they are declaring for the NFL Draft that is suppose to mean they are leaving college early. Do those 3 have any years left they could take?ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 12:47 pmThere would be zero benefit for players such as Favors, Farmer and Stroman (the three who have declared thus far) to opt out. They need more recognition, not less.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 12:33 pmFor seniors trying to attempt the NFL they do risk injury. Opting out is not new as we have seen many seniors opt out for several years now so it will be interesting to see what guys like Dubinion decide to do.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 11:49 amAgree. There is no tangible downside to playing this game.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 11:27 amI've never gotten worse when putting structure time into learning an activity.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 7:44 amI know everyone talks about extra practices, but we practiced in Spring Ball, summer workouts and for 13-14 weeks this season. We have injuries.
Are we going to gain that much from extra practices in the era of the portal?
If the players want to play, then I support it. Life is too short and you only get X amount of times to suit up.
Plus, another game of game management experience for our head coach has to be worth something.
What's the down side to playing this game? Probably the biggest one is someone balls out on TV and gets noticed. I'll take the extra reps and experience for the seniors at that risk.

I do, finish the damn job. You're under scholarship for the season, you owe it to the teammates that have poured themselves into this season, and those that supported your journey from the start of the season(s).

I firmly believe that NIL contracts need to be prorated if a player voluntarily leaves early for transfer portal.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 4:46 pmEspecially if you have an NIL contract.

Personally, I think it should be graduated so it is back end heavy.. so, week one may be 5% payment... By game 12 you get 20% for that week.. Realize math does not work based on my example but hopefully the concept makes since. Make Remember November to be remembered for other things.RaleighApp27609 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 4:47 pmI firmly believe that NIL contracts need to be prorated if a player voluntarily leaves early for transfer portal.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 4:46 pmEspecially if you have an NIL contract.

True, anyone that's ever played their last game and it's over wants to lace it up for one more ride. Completely behind those that do, Hope we can field a competitive team. LFG!

Not trying to jinx anything, but this trophy looks ready-made for a little Yosef costume.RaleighApp27609 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 9:42 amBest looking bowl trophy we have played for in my opinion based on aesthetics.

All this snow has messed up my plans for dinner and fancy conversation (aka, 50-cent wing night at Town Tavern). However, everyone’s takes on the bowl bid have put a silver lining on the evening.

Are they going to update this headline to recap the Arkansas State game?
"Mountaineers' Season Ends as Red Wolves Rally in Boone"

This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Last year BYU beat Colorado in the Alamo Bowl.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Mon Dec 08, 2025 8:52 amSince 1979 (outside of playoff bowls), this is only the 2nd time that two teams from the same conference played each other in a bowl game. The only other time was in 2015, Colorado St vs Nevada. At least, that is what AI told me.

Don't worry about it. Buy at the gate and sit wherever you want. My experience at past bowls. That way if something happens you can't go no tickets to try to sell.EastTNMountaineer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 07, 2025 9:41 pmAnybody know when tickets go on sale and where to purchase? Thanks

That stadium holds 47k. I don't think finding a ticket will be a problem. 85% of it is metal bleachers. Only 2 seated second on each side of the 50.
Re: Birmingham Bowl
Georgia Southern is favored by 2.5...why anyone would bet when we are not clear who is suiting up for whom seems dumb to me.
There are a few games with a 1.5 line, but this is expected to be one of the closest Bowl games of the season.

Re: Birmingham Bowl
The downside? What if our guys don’t show up with enthusiasm? I’ve watched a lot of bowl games each year where players don’t seem to be interested in being there. That’s why I won’t gamble on them. You never know. If we get Ted stomped it’ll be a big downer.
Q: Will the guys getting paid want extra for this?
