UGA basketball early 2000's under Jim Harrick, fake P.E. Classes, can be added as well... However, the NCAA came down hard on them and they still haven't recovered.AppGrad1 wrote:Appftw wrote:Appgrad1 please show me all the other schools that created hundreds of fake classes dating back to the 90s..... I'll wait.
They are furiously trying to sweep this under the rug. What's sad is that the NCAA would be all up in their business if it were more about money and improper benefits (a la the Manziel autograph investigation) but theyre really sending the message that academics don't matter.
Auburn... 2004
Not 100% sure but I think Florida State did too.
Not sure about the 100's of fake classes though but there were fake classes.
Hope I didn't keep you waiting too long. Been gone.
The difference is UGA basketball is not a NCAA rainmaker. UNC b-ball, Auburn/FSU football are (i think you can even lump Ohio State football a few yrs ago into this group). Point being the NCAA will quickly turn a blind eye to anything that hurts their back pocket even if it undermines to the very core the reason for existence - the "STUDENT" athlete. They have turned a blind eye for so long, being more worried more about petty text messages from a coach to a recruit on the wrong date on the calendar, that at this point laying down penalties to the UNC's of the world would be admitting that they themselves, the NCAA, have been nothing but a money hungry utter failure.
