Wonder what most fans prefer:
Go 6-6 with wins over Wake and UGA then slip into a bowl?
Go 10-2 with losses to Wake and UGA, win the SB and go to the same bowl?
I think I get your point, but the chances of the first option happening were extraordinarily small.
I will say that I'd have rather gone 10-2 (7-1) than 10-2 (8-0).

I really enjoy hypotheticals. My friends and I have endless sports hypothetical debates. For example, "Michigan win, or our FCS national championships" is a frequent one.
Of these two options, I'd choose 10-2 w/ a Sunbelt title. A championship is always the tiebreaker for me.

More interesting hypothetical...
Would you rather we went on a NDSU 5, 6, 7 championship run and still be FCS rolling people or be where we are (if we were hypothetically) struggling?

We won three in a row. Close enough.

Now do you really think anyone would be brave enough to say championships on this board?

App made the right decision and I am happy they did - but that doesn't mean I don't admire what ND State has done - people can say, oh well, they are still 1-AA, but if I am not mistaken they have hosted College GameDay twice ---

The SBC needs to schedule a big conference game in Boone next year in October (during leaf season before the snow) on a Saturday to entice GameDay. Is Troy coming to Boone next year? I know they would want it on TV so it would probably be on a Thursday night, but Troy v App in Boone on the first Saturday in October next year would be great setting for GameDay.

Why do you ask such a question? If we were good enough to beat BOTH UGA and Wake what in the world would make anyone think we would end up losing to 6 other teams on our schedule that would not even be remotely close to their level? UGA is a legit top 5 team in the country and Wake is good this year. That scenario implies that we either get killed on injuries OR have a total meltdown for the rest of the year. Totally implausible scenario in my opinion.
A more realistic question is we go 10-2 with losses to UGA and Wake or 10-2/9-3 with wins over UGA/Wake. At least that is plausible.

Dude, it's a hypothetical question......the point is to frame the question in an unusual or unlikely way.
