Re: Internet service at KBS
The only game in the last several years that I have had any decent Wifi anywhere in town was the Troy game. I assume espn brought in some sort of magic for GameDay.

Re: Internet service at KBS
I was in good shape and had mine downloaded, but my tailgate neighbor had a last minute addition and needed a ticket. I tried for 2 hours in Duncan to get into the app to transfer it, but couldn't. The guy just had to walk in with me to get into the game, but it would have been much simpler if I could have transferred it.

Re: Internet service at KBS
I use Verizon and had no luck at the parking lot and game. I decided to go to the main cafeteria and use ASU visitor wi-fi as I had forgotten to download my tickets before arriving in the parking lot. It worked fine. While at the game, the person next to me was able to get scores to keep me up to date on other games. I think he uses T-Mobile.BUTCH1991 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 6:04 amI was in good shape and had mine downloaded, but my tailgate neighbor had a last minute addition and needed a ticket. Even better is watching those who are desperately trying to access... but can't.

To reiterate what others have said. Scores of other games have disappeared. If that is intentional I don’t understand the reasoning. Many of us who truly care about our game also care about what others in our conference are doing. It is relevant.

I have had some success with this site, definitely better than espn, action, etc.:

I agree with this. I know that I have to transfer tickets before we get to Boone or it may not happen.

Re: Internet service at KBS
Pretty much all major sports venues, including Nascar, struggle with this. Dale jr. brought it up with Marcus Smith (CMS) on his podcast. the cost to rent equipment to bring in for a race weekend is huge. Don't see Carolina West wireless covering this cost!goapps93 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 8:29 pmYeah, I’ve been wondering how folks are submitting photos.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 8:15 pmI agree to a point. But, although I downloaded my tickets at home, somehow they didn't make it to my Wallet. So, I had to walk away from the East gate and fortunately was able to get enough cell signal to re-download.goapps93 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 7:56 pmIt’s been frustrating to me too but have we gotten to the point that we can’t spend a few hours disconnected and enjoy a football game? There are many places I’ve been where a lot of people are packed in and there’s no data or Wi-Fi. I’ve been able to call and text (no pictures) just fine in KBS.
Also, we are being prompted to submit # photos for the scoreboard mosaic, but that's impossible from many places in KBS. Plus, at quarter break and halftime, I would like to check the other scores in conference and in region. When Sprint sponsored the Cup Series, they would bring in mobile trailers to boost cell reception. A Wi-Fi boost or better cell reception would be a plus.
I've learned to live with it. But, for others it's a part of the experience that may or may not be important in attending more games. I would hope it would be budgeted into the Stadium Expansion.
I’m not sure what can be done. It’s not safe for that many people to use an open Wi-Fi network and I don’t know if a cell provider is willing to spend that much money on upping the service 6-7 days per year. We are certainly not NASCAR. Maybe we could make it part of a sponsorship deal. I’ve learned to live with it.
I do wish scores were announced more often and included on the video board.

Re: Internet service at KBS
Not sure how much it costs but the Panthers upgraded free wi-fi in Bank of America Stadium a couple of years ago and it works great for me. Appx. 70,000 people in the stadium too (even if they are pulling for the visiting team). Apparently it CAN be done...just a big cost. With everything from tickets to maybe parking and ordering of snacks going online this would seem to be a big priority for the future. Maybe they can include it in the new East Side tower plans.

Re: Internet service at KBS
Don’t anybody get too excited if you have T-Mobile. I have it and my phone is basically a brick on game days. I switched this year from Verizon and I never had any luck with them, either.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 6:55 amI I use Verizon and had no luck at the parking lot and game.I decided to go to the main cafeteria and use ASU visitor wi-fi as I had forgotten to download my tickets before arriving in the parking lot. Re: Internet service at KBS
If I recall correctly, DG discussed this issue on the August calls for YC members.. if I recall correctly he said they are analyzing to see if anything they can do, however, at the time, a cell phone tower near stadium was not in plans given the cost. This is all if I remembered accurately. It has been a while.

I attend plenty of games at the Swamp with upwards of 90k in the stands and never have an issue with their guest wifi or cell coverage at all. I have no idea what UF pays for his, but it is clearly something that can be done. At the Rock, my phone is useless.

I haven't even looked for the campus network while there, is it even an option? Assume it would be overwhelmed at the time.

Re: Internet service at KBS
App offers free wi-fi in between Raven Rocks Hall and Thunder Hill Hall to download tickets from the mobile app before you get to KBS. They had a sign for this before you cross over to the NEZ building earlier this season.

Rarely do I look at my phone during the game.AppScott89 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 6:01 pmI think this has been discussed before, but Saturday really made me mad. Why can we not get internet service inside KBS. What happen to the guest wi-fi. I realize the wi-fi was hit or miss but it did give you hope. I could not get the ESPN or any other APP to load. Does anyone have an answer. I would like for someone to take this complaint to DG.
