Re: #TeamClark
I know injuries are part of the game, but if Noel doesn’t get injured, we’re riding a 3 game win streak. Would have liked to see some passes to Kanye out in the flats when the ODU DB’s were 10 yards back. We’ve done good trying to get the ball to Tucker and Davis in the open field. I hate the read option then screen pass to WR. I loathe it. Lost us a game and we’re still doing it like it’s a good play. K-Robb is the man, so is Horn. Need to get ball to TE’s more. Defense, I understand why 6 were dropped back to avoid the long ball, but the only guy getting pressure was Nate Johnson. When was the last time we had a corner blitz? Our blitzed two LB’s? Do we even run the 3-4 anymore? Looked like all nickel against ODU. So our weakest link is the DB’s, but we’re putting 5 out there? Clark? You reading this?!!

And I can argue that we are a fumble vs Coastal and a Wyoming blocked FG away from only having 2 losses.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 1:45 pmWe are a FIFTY-TWO YARD field goal from a four game loosing streak. We turned a corner LAST YEAR, at half time v. JMU.DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 12:28 pmDo we have 2 more wins if Noel plays vs Coastal and ODU???appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 11:09 amHonest question: since halftime of the JMU gsme last year, has anyone seen any indication that we're turning this around. I'll acknowledge the UNC game is a good answer.
We seem to forget that he's our best offensive player coming into the season.
We have a QB - Joey has been really good last 2 ball games except for a fumble costing us a first down.
I think the corner is turned --- this program has hit rock bottom and the incline is coming back, upsets around the corner as #TeamClark will get back to being the big underdog that fits him and his quiet cause.

I'll bet if you looked at most normal teams (not the semi pro teams) games lots of them have wins or losses that are due to a turnover, blocked kick, etc.

Very true "Used Correctly"
a) What the Portal and NIL did was help the other teams close the gap that App had leading into 2021 SBC play.
b) App State has to be able to take "D's" on a "portal" kids transcript and get them into a major more easily than has been happening in the past.
c) App can't allow a dozen Boosters to dictate and control the team with their NIL donation.
Many wealthy guys wanted Bobby Lutz and Gillin didn't appease them.
Very important courage test
Pray for sound decisions in the coming 6 weeks
Last thing I am praying for is App State football decisions, now you on the other hand Mr Philly better pray for the Phillies to win tonight.
All things in prayer .....
Thy Will Be Done ..... just hoping my favorites are in Thy Will

Re: #TeamClark
Have you read all of my post? I gave Gillin credit for Clark hire, at the time it was correct move, considering 2 straight Decembers of Head Coaches leaving, but I also know of weaknesses where the AD isn't fully helping his people therefore the criticism.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 1:29 pmWhat is your agenda? This is his line to these people,
"If I have to make a decision do you have my back?"
This was floated last winter over a current HC that he ultimately decided not to move on.
I have been 100% behind Clark, actually starting this thread that has well over 10k views, Only critical of a few plays and lack of passion on the defensive staff. I have defended #TEAMCLARK more than any other.
What does names have to do with anything, that I know Gillin's closes circle? I answer questions for other posters ASUTodd. Scroll the thread before asking me 'serious' questions.
My end game is to enlighten and educate, which will never happen, a fan base about sports and the interworking of athletics at ASU/APPState/Appalachian State - what else do we call it?

Satt and his staff thought they were getting fired, they go to Troy and blow them out, rest is history for his era.

It would be nice if that sense of urgency existed in the current staff. It would ease a lot of my trepidation for the rest of the seasonDenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 6:10 pmSatt and his staff thought they were getting fired, they go to Troy and blow them out, rest is history for his era.

That and money is why you don’t make a move during the season. I don’t think Shawn will turn it around but it is still possible. If he loses 2 more though he is done. I think we got 1 more loss we can take and we are coming up on the hardest part of the league schedule.DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 6:10 pmSatt and his staff thought they were getting fired, they go to Troy and blow them out, rest is history for his era.

Didn't Sloan and staff all come from Southern? There's a conspiracy theory waiting to be hatched.
