Our crew was treated exceptionally well in Harrisonburg … before, during and after the game. I’m pulling for the Dukes to become the 12th Sun Belt team to play in a bowl game this season.

I hope there are exactly 82 six win teams and watch their heads explode.
I am torn on it. Either way it’s good for us and league. Seeing their heads explode would be funny but having them in a bowl is good for the league as well.
The SunBelt was viewed by others as a joke when we joined and that perception has not changed. We, on this board, know that the talent level has improved and there’s more parity in the league but aside from a bit more revenue there’s really no need to pull for JMU to make a bowl.

Hell, they make a bowl, and it’s worth another $80,000 in passive income for us. Other than that, I couldn’t care less one way or the other.

This is only the begining of many years to come. They are special. Not sure what the next thing will be but there will be a next thing for sure. They are a unc mini me.
Love them or hate them...they do it have it going right now across the board. Football is still ranked, basketball is ranked, their men's soccer is in the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament, their volleyball team made the Sun Belt final, and their women's soccer team made the NCAA tournament. I think we're going to have a lot of reasons to hate them going forward.
#1 reason being their fans, but yes you do have to tip your hat to what their entire sports program is doing right now.

So we can root for them to win today but not hope they get a bowl bid. Seems petty to me but we all have reasons I guess.

Professionals in CFB constantly talk about how this is the best G5 league. The more teams go bowling, and win, the better for the league. JMU crying over being left out would be funny though.

We don’t need them to crap the bed and our season in Conway.

I sure would like for APP have a chance to show how much improvement has happened in the conference championship game. Im a closet Dukes fan today.

It’s now JMU -8, guess folks think they have less to play for and APP has incentive at now -10

I can pull for GS if it helps us make the CCG and root against them as their fans are annoying.

It’s a rivalry, call it petty if you’d like but everyone needs a villain in athletics.

Completely disagree with your first sentence. There has absolutely been a change in perception. I will agree that it still isn't reflective of the actual level of play, but perception always lags. The more informed college football fans and analysts know how much improvement there has been. That's how it always is.

The fact that JMU didn’t drop out of the AP rankings after a loss shows the perception has changed (granted they did drop to the RV list on the Coaches, but they were #21 there). Will it ever be B1G or SEC level? No, but we are at the point where the bigger SBC names are closer to “quality loss” than “wow, look at the little guy go!”

Jerry Palm has us playing Toledo in Myrtle Beach but strangely has JMU in New Orleans. Does he not know the deal? I'm curious if JMU does get a bowl do they get a good one?

They get a bowl because UscJr lost.

Doesn't the Belt champion get the New Orleans bowl? I get JMU grabbing a game because of the lack of 6 win teams but surely they won't get the NO game?

It was that way for a while but I don't think so anymore. ESPN has the choice of which aligned bowl will get the conference champ. NO Bowl has second pick.

Liberty has a very good chance at NY6. SMU is a better team than Tulane.
