Re: I am with you Coach Clark
Why thank you, sir (or ma’am)! I’m quietly hoping we win final 2 and become bowl eligible.
Off topic, another fan I know at the gym in Raleigh, said that we could file a waiver to be considered for a bowl if we end up 5-6 because of the cancelled LU game, can anyone confirm? Thanks

If we were to finish 5-6, I would hope we didn't try to file a waiver. This season needs to end sooner rather than later. Win the next 2 they deserve a bowl.teller wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 2:04 pmWhy thank you, sir (or ma’am)! I’m quietly hoping we win final 2 and become bowl eligible.

Yeah season needs to end asap. Fire Clark, find a solid new HC ASAP!!!!!!!! We don’t deserve a bowl or waiver whatsoever!Yosefus wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 2:52 pmIf we were to finish 5-6, I would hope we didn't try to file a waiver. Not to be presumptuous, but App filing a waiver to be considered bowl-eligible would be the acknowledgment the program is at the bottom of the barrel.

If we make an emotional decision to extend Clark based on an underdog victory today, id officially ask for DGs resignation.

Can't ever make a decision either way based on one game. I would hope Gillin is above making an emotional decision.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 4:07 pmIf we make an emotional decision to extend Clark based on an underdog victory today, id officially ask for DGs resignation.

There has to be a change regardless of end of this season. This brand of football will never be more than mediocre. Right now I would even take an old triple option guy...we'll maybe not that.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 4:10 pmCan't ever make a decision either way based on one game. Personally, i think we need to clean house but my point was more to not keeping him because of a win today. You can't judge on one game and to me if you want him gone it is based on the whole tenure, or last 3 years.Yosefus wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 4:21 pmThere has to be a change regardless of end of this season. If we do keep Shawn I think the staff needs to stick together and go into next year with a firm standard that must be met, no exceptions, to stay past 2025.Yosefus wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 7:15 pmYep. Re: I am with you Coach Clark
No I had no way of knowing. Since you mention WCU...I thought you had gone back in time 50 years when some of us old folks thought of them as a rival. Not many of us, but some. FWIW, I no longer believe in rivalries. Everybody and his brother on here considering Georgia Swamp Southern as a rival, Some consider ECU as a rival, etc etc. My only rival is who ever we are playing at the time.

Re: I am with you Coach Clark
Clark finally has a good streak. 2 in a row vs JMU. That and he’s kept the Georgia State streak alive. Oh, and ECU. If you’re looking for bright spots.

Re: I am with you Coach Clark
It was a great way to send Clark out with a win today. I'm proud of the team for finally getting tired of losing and flipping the switch in the 2nd quarter. Thanks for everything Shawn and I hope you land easy next season.

Re: I am with you Coach Clark
Big win today and I don't think you can fire him after this unless he loses in a blowout at Georgia Southern. I thought after the JMU game was the time if we lost big but not now. It is getting late with all the other openings so I do think the best thing for us is to keep him for one more year. Gillin should set a minimum win total and tell Shawn that he is cleaning house if we don't reach it. I think a lot of fans are going to be upset.

Gillin is not going to make a move now. I think we needed to lose big to JMU and GSU but I do believe Gillin will keep him now.dtrain4prez wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 9:51 pmIt was a great way to send Clark out with a win today. Re: I am with you Coach Clark
Everyone here may disagree about Coach Clark continuing as App's HC. Here's where we can all agree: the last three seasons have been an emotional roller coaster. Setting 2023 aside, people are comparing 2022 and 2024 because the W/L records are similar, but I think those comparisons are difficult to make.
Looking back, the 2022 squad played competitively in nearly every contest while the 2024 squad has been all over the board...even before the hurricane (USA, anyone?). The team that rolled JMU yesterday barely showed up against Coastal. Slow starts in Q1/Q3, Joey making bad decisions, a defense has looked mostly clueless all season.
Let's assume Clark isn't going anywhere (he isn't). What else needs to change to get App off the roller coaster?

He will land right back where he is now. The question is, does the team land right back where they are now in the standings? Sure hope not.dtrain4prez wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 9:51 pmIt was a great way to send Clark out with a win today.
