That is the weakest excuse for penalties I have ever heard, but not at all unexpected.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:28 pmHard to solve for 7 years of poor recruiting in 7 weeks.

We closed the score to 27-14 wirh 10:40 left in the 3rd quarter and didn’t get another first down the rest of the game and turned the ball over three times. That is the most inept period in the history of App State offensive football. As an educated fan who made the trip, that is unacceptable and embarrassing.AppDub wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:21 pmDon't use too broad of a brush. Was the game and a few observations. Zero energy on the sidelines. Zero. Also and this may be dumb but we don’t point anymore during kickoffs. Swann has terrible body language. I get he’s dinged up but he is not leading this team at the moment. Defense is a mess. As was echoed by others. Boise was favored to win but this was reminiscent of when we played Wyoming years ago as an fcs team. I’m disheartened . I will say. Boise does it right. Great fans great environment. Was refreshing to not hear a terrible hip hop

You can’t call it the new normal when it’s been happening for a few seasons. I realize it is unpopular to talk about the past right now, but it’s hard not to with responses like this. We lost 48-14 to a bottom feeder team last season. We lost by 4 scores in the Sun belt championship game in 2023. We lost 41-13 in 2021. It’s been happening for a while.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:21 pmAre we really arguing that it’s ok to lose by 5 touchdowns to a peer school?
I certainly remember Satterfields first 2 seasons. I remember losing to Liberty when they sucked.
It’s very strange to read these comments that anybody who thinks we are in a bad spot is uneducated about football. Yes, correct, we’re turning over a lot, but I think anybody who isn’t upset is massively underestimating that this is our new normal. Maybe I’m uneducated though.

Not sure why you quoted me on this one as I agree with you. My post in response was to the original poster who seems to think when people are upset over poor play they don't know what they are talking about.WASU 93 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:40 pmWe closed the score to 27-14 wirh 10:40 left in the 3rd quarter and didn’t get another first down the rest of the game and turned the ball over three times. We may need to start rethinking our AD and his hires. Football, including gameday, has slowly declined in their tenureSeattleapp wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:40 pmWas the game and a few observations. I was right behind the bench for most of the game and it was zero enthusiasm. I don’t need fake hype but “goin through the motions” entered my mind a few times.boonetown1 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:48 pmWe may need to start rethinking our AD and his hires. I also disagree that Boise is a peer team. We are peer teams with other average programs like Marshall, Coastal and JMU. Boise has been a step above us. When people recite the “most winningiest programs” stat, they leave out what has happened in the recent seasons. We were on equal footing in 2018/2019. Boise had a small blip but is now a playoff contender annually. We had a blip and have not recovered yet.ArmantiWaterSafety wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:21 pmAre we really arguing that it’s ok to lose by 5 touchdowns to a peer school?

Nah, not dumb at all. It's a cool tradition and one the team should still be doing. Things like that, no matter how trivial seeming, matter.Seattleapp wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:40 pmWas the game and a few observations. Zero energy on the sidelines. Zero. As for the energy - it's not surprising. We have what is essentially a team of journeymen who could be playing for Anywhere U with a Block Whatever on the helmet. That will probably be the case next year when half, or more, of them are gone.

Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
Boise is closer to a P4 Big 10 school than they are to us. They went toe to toe with Oregon and Penn state last season for the record. Everyone’s expectation were skewed because they had a terrible week 1 against a very good USF team, who is also closer to a P4 SEC school than us (as evident by them beating Florida).Seattleapp wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:52 pmDude we shouldn’t be losing by this much to another g5 school periodASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:51 pmI also disagree that Boise is a peer team. Re: Boise Discussion - 7:30pm
This loss has nothing to do with the past. We have a new staff and 53 new players, barely any starters even know the past staff. No need to discuss the past anymore, it wasn't up to snuff so we moved on. But the present sure as **** isn't up to snuff either. Hopefully we get better but the product thus far has not been good at all, despite the 93 years of NFL coaching experience.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:46 pmYou can’t call it the new normal when it’s been happening for a few seasons. Those slogans are cute but not realistic in every battle. Multiple things can be true. We can fight, which we did, and also be overmatched, which we were. Boise flipped a switch that we are not capable of and finished the game on a 23-0 run. They are a great team. We are not. It’s not rocket science.yosef69 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:57 pmMy god listen to yourself.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 10:55 pmBoise is closer to a P4 Big 10 school than they are to us.
