There's a combination of the lack of information shared about the team and a lack of fan service as far as the uniforms combos, botched retro logo usage and the lack of care given to gameday operations that will boomerang back on this program eventually. $60 to park in a county parking deck with no tailgating allowed. Yes, it sold out the first time and likely will again, but just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
You don't lose everyone all of a sudden, it erodes over time. And when it erodes, it's really hard to get people back. We found that out from 2013-2017 after still having big crowds for regular games in 2011 and 2012 despite growing issues.
I don't know if Gillin and the people in the West Tower understands how unpopular he is becoming.

It's called Declining by Degrees. And, for each person that had passion for a cause, it happens at a different moment. Vegas is in the finding out stage. It used to be that you'd lose your money at the casino and the food, drink and lodge would be cheap. Now, the food and drink in Vegas are stupidly expensive. For the last several years, everything in Vegas turned corporate and prices went up. The big drop in visitors finally hit this year. People got tired of it, and it's more than the bottom falling out of international tourism.

On the flip side of that, while Vegas visitors are down something like 10%, money gambled is only down like 0.2%, bringing in the BIG money pockets of F1 (I think the cheapest ticket package for that was something like $6k, and those were the worst seats in the house). Granted, I agree with you that it's stupid, but they're catering to the wealthy now. I think the biggest problem with our thinking though is that we're trying to cater to the big donors as evidenced by the premium seating projects, but we're providing a much less than premium product. Not even talking about the play on the field, I'm talking about all the things mentioned in this thread. Lighting, sound, music issues, no traditions, changing things on a whim, etc. I would say relatively poor concessions and bathroom issues, but those aren't problems with the premium seating.

Adding extra cost, like $5 more for an aisle seat in the East deck that I have had since the deck opened? That was just one of many things, that has been hard to swallow. Being moved from Duncan when we were told the creek under it was being "day lighted", moving to Blue Ridge Lot and paying A LOT more, then telling us we could move back to Duncan and keep our spot for Blue Ridge the next year, but not offering any of our money back if we did move back to Duncan. Yosef Club donations not going to what it was supposed to go to originally. Other Blue Ridge lot tailgaters not respecting the "drive lane" when you arrive to get to your parking spot and having them say "You should have gotten here earlier". No, I pay for my spot like you do and I can get here when I want to get here. What was a great (and unique) experience at Duncan for those tailgaters, was eliminated, without an equivalent substitution.
I think the line is very thin for a lot of long term season ticket holders, and there’s no guarantee that they will be replaced in today’s changing landscape. There’s a commitment involved in making the trip up the mountain six times a year. For many, it has been a worthwhile experience. But, will it continue to be?

You seemed shocked you had to pay a lot more and cited that as a key reason for dissatisfaction. They’ve never been just for scholarships. Dollars have always been used to provide benefits to the student-athlete through meals, lodging, healthcare and travel. Your key dissatisfaction and what you are alluding to is you don’t want to support NIL under the new rules, which is completely reasonable. The unfortunate trade-off for many in your shoes is that the non-NIL athlete is harmed the most is the whole situation.

The Yosef Club donations were until about a decade ago used 100% for scholarships. I will preface this by saying the stadium was loud on OSU drives during crunch time.
Other 3 quarters, so-so. The stadium announcer or whomever tried to get the crowd going.. during iduring timeouts.. which is good... But not the critical time to potentially make communication things difficult during 1st and 2nd down for opposing team. The student section can rest when we have the ball. Big difference between Boise and KBS. I would like to see something like Cameron Crazies the entire time opponent has the ball.
Can we get an energetic student to assist the Public Address announcer to do things to get fans going. Let PAA say what they need to say about the game...then student runs the electronic board to get various chants/cheers going on more than 3rd down..we have a home field advantage...seems like we leave it unfulfilled.

I thought the crowd was great yesterday. The App/State chants in the 4th quarter were as loud as they have been in several seasons. The Sound System was improved. You could here it clearly from the top of the East Stands. And, Sean Connery, Welcome to the Rock was present as well (although the timing may have been a little different).

Big improvement in sound quality, but please retire "play me some mountain music". Ugh.

As it was explained to me yesterday, the issues with the sound system for the home opener were due to some EQ issues with the DJ. The system was tested before gameday and all was fine. The DJ came in and made some changes to the board which messed things up.
