My wish is that the G5 split off, be joined by some upper tier FCS teams, form a new division and have the same playoff system as the FCS.

The early intentions for moving up was that everyone could see in the crystal ball that P5 would split off one day. Had we stayed D1AA/FCS we would be a 3rd tier program. With the split G5 for all intents and purposes will basically become the new FCS level.
Honestly doesn't really matter to me one way or other. I'll always pull for App. Just hate to see what we have going on right now

I'm still in shock. Shocked that the team has no fight in it. It was taking half the defense to tackle their runners. Our guys were getting pushed around like they were little boys playing against men. USA had the second worst rated pass defense in the Belt. Castle (love him) is a situational back. Doesn't catch well and doesn't have the speed or agility to cut and break long runs.

No penetration on Defense and our backers get blocked or are out of position. Our ends and outside folks can't seal off the outside on runs. Take bad pursuit angles and can't tackle. We are small and slow and don't seem to have any real fight in us. Not sure about the strength and conditioning either, I've never seen us pushed around like we are this year. And why do defenses seem to know what we are going to run on every freaking play.

I have a lot to complain about and a lot more questions but I have never seen an App State team quit on the field or play with less grit, fire and determination.

For question 1 I don’t think we will have a choice, the ptb have too much money to make and not have to share with us lesser brands. There will be a split and there is a 99% chance that neither of us will make the top tier.

As for question 2 in my heart of hearts I had more fun in fcs, but that has a lot more to do with the size of the school and the way Boone was than the football played.

If I was God of college football, I would make a conference of regionally competitive teams that competed either at the top level or what the g5/lower p4/upper tier fcs teams will become. If uncc wanted to be part of that I would be fine with that.

I’m not in the know, so I really don’t know who’s calling shots-just assume it’s someone in charge. Having played, I just know a player wouldn’t actually ever insuinuate that it’s the fans fault for our struggles.
