Re: Roster/Staff Updates
This might be the first time since at least the 80s and maybe earlier that every on-field assistant was turned over in an offseason.

Some concerns I am hearing and know:
1- Kaden Robinson met one on one with him, there was a comment along the lines, 'since your going in the portal, Im going to tell schools your still injured and not rehabbing'
2- No South Carolina players that have entered the Portal have followed CDL to Boone (kinda of telling on the player relationship side of things)
3- He's already throwing around the 'I was in the NFL and I did or know this...etc'

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Everyone expects cops to rat out bad cops. Now I know that being in law enforcement isn't the same as coaching but stay with me..... How was it ok for assistants not to raise concerns over what was happening with team? I know some are going to say because they had to remain faithful to the coach and that's not how it's done. Actually, it is..... We all saw the problems (well some didn't) and yet no one seemed willing to man up and say something. They either didn't see the issues themselves or they weren't vocal enough to get it out to the public. So with that thought in my mind I see why they had to go. Plus I have a saying that I learned from an old LT of mine.....if you're going to overthrow the king, you're gonna have to kill him. That means out with the old and in with the new. I'm sure those that needed to be retained were. Those that Coach DLo deemed sympathetic to Clark, well they had to go. You can't build something new off a shaky foundation. Plus if this fails, Coach DLo knows it's all on him. If it is a success, Clark and any of those associated with him can't take credit for it. None of this is said with ill intentions to Clark. Im just stating a fact. Now this is fact in my head and may not be fact to others. Anyways, I see why people aren't kept or leave for somewhere else when a new coach comes in.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Lance and Shawn , both who I know and like as people, are best friends. And both were major factors in our downturn.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Lance had Shawns ear more then anyone else. BFFs, would walk together every morning etc.. and from what I have been told by people close to the team, Lance was a big reason for lots of blown plays and 3rd down runs up the middle. A play would come across the headset, and Lance would recommend something different, based on his "binder" and Shawn would go with him. Its hard to break the mentality of a High School coach who thinks you can out muscle the other team and who thinks they are the greatest coach ever....

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
The only accurate thing in your entire post is that Shawn and Lance are good friends and walked together. The rest is completely false. Your most recent post is from Sept 2023 where you say "Trying to manage the end of a close game is a little harder at this level then it was at Shelby High eh?? Perhaps making your right hand man a former high school coach, no matter how successful he was, isn’t a great idea." Clearly you have something against Coach Ware both from your willingness to spread inaccurate info and the tone of your posts. I don't post often but enjoy reading the forums. Felt compelled to respond because this is so off base.mtnchopyaz wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 2:05 pmLance had Shawns ear more then anyone else. Re: Roster/Staff Updates
100%. There was supposedly some finger pointing and in-fighting going on with the staff blaming each other at times as well. If true, they certainly did not sound the alarms publicly.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 1:26 pmEveryone expects cops to rat out bad cops. You are right about letting go those who are sympathetic to Clark. The remaining issue is that we have some support staff who are very sympathetic to Clark and I think would leak stuff on Loggains with a negative spin and leak info that does not need to be spread in general. Hoping to see operations, recruiting, and personnel changes by the summer. Some of them are Clark loyalists and Loggains needs people who will have his back.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Agreed. I am waiting on him to clean out support staff and the rest. We need a full house cleaning in football and even in some non football areas but I know Loggains can only clean out the NEZ. I said this right when we let go of Clark as well. I understand you can't let them all go the first couple weeks but I hope we see more departures soon.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
If I’m DL I’d let a couple of false statements leak out to find the mole. Perhaps he already did. Appreciate DOTE outing them.

100% agree here. Whoever is talking to DOTE and a couple others I have seen online is evidently leaking and Loggains needs to dismiss them.

Lots of scrutiny taking place right now on several fronts. Some people have grown tired of leaks.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I know at least some of where DOTE is getting his from.
And I believe at least some of his sources have been let go.
And I do believe what he has said is mostly true.
And I agree the leaks need to stop, but I think also some of this is the new norm in college football.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
It certainly wouldn’t be the first time our Athletic Department (both the current and previous regimes) have planted false info to see where a leak was, I doubt it’s the last.
It’s one of the main reasons I don’t trust anything I read on message boards from people “in the know”

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
If the leaks are true, then maybe someone was leaking our game plans to the teams that Appalachian was playing the past several years. That would explain a lot of our past performance and why we would go down early in the first quarter of games.CharlotteApp05 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 6:39 pmI know at least some of where DOTE is getting his from.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Just my opinion, but I don’t think anyone leaked anything to negatively impact our program directly.
I just don’t think we’ve had the type of culture that was as professional as certain programs run. For instance I doubt SC ever said to his assistants or folks in the program anything like…. Do not tell your buddies, or family or former players what we are doing here. Everything in this room is confidential. And so I think folks just told folks and certain folks either became insiders or took information and formed opinions or felt like they were close to the program.
Seems like the expectation going forward will be kept a little closer to the vest, which is probably a good thing.
