I wasn’t happy with the roof hire. I was really unhappy after the Charlotte game, obviously pretty happy with the UNC game. I really don’t have a problem with today’s performance.
All week we talked about how tough Coastal would be. How they possessed the ball and ran it really well. We had a bad 1st series, then made some good adjustments that worked before the long delay and bad series, had another great series and essentially shut them down. We held their RB under 100 yards for the first time in 3 games. Yeah, they made some plays and got some yards, but overall the defense did really good.

Well said. You nailed it. We seem to be respectful of our opponent leading up to the game and then when the game starts we lose our minds on here. We treat these teams as if they are beneath us. Kind of like the UNC fans that I saw at the game last week. I guess I see a lot more parity in college football than many on this board. Drink said at the beginning of the year, winning a college football game is tough. He is exactly right. Does our Defense need to improve? Absolutely! But this nonsense of calling for Roof to be fired 2 games in (Skip game 3) and now game 4 of the season is just crazy.

Okay, I know they were good, but did losing Stout and Duck make THAT much of a difference? Usually, in the past, we’ve had comparable replacements. Is it a change in defensive scheme? We WILL NOT beat Louisiana by letting them score at will. ESPN already gives them a 63% chance of winning!

So if we consistently win offense and special teams, and the defense is just ok, it will probably be enough.
Kind of like the year Auburn won the national championship. High powered offense that scored at will and a defense that did just enough. And the DC that year was....

The Louisiana game will be a track meet. The hell of it for Louisiana is they want be able to stop our offense. Apps defense has proven to be opportunistic every game which will be the difference in winning that game. To hell with ESPN, they don't know shit.

I too worry about our defense, but they do enough to help us win. I’m kinda to the point where I’m just accepting we are built like a PAC12 team. We score a boat load of points, fast, but as a result our defense spends a lot of time on the field. I can’t imagine the toll that takes on them.

I am however, jazzed about our offense. An unstoppable machine of death, grinding our opponents into mush. The team that holds us under 30 probably beats us. But good luck with that.
