We need to just keep on winning. Maybe that might help shut up the boo birds.
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Not a good coach? I guess Coach Drinkwitz doesn't know who are good coaches and who are not. Eh? Same for Doug Gillian. Eh?diehardapp18 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 4:58 pmThis is not an overreaction. Re: Ted Roof Comments
I don't recall who specifically, but this board had many critics of Scott Satterfield as well, then a rich P5 hired him away. Some people just see things through a negative filter. It's sad if you think about it. I sometimes feel like they're pissing on our potential "special season" and also giving Drink and his staff a bad taste and false perspective as to what our overall fan base is like.
It's also upsetting that potential recruits and their families are going to read stupid stuff like this thread and not give us serious consideration because they'll get the impression that our coaching staff is in turmoil and they might be replaced. Kids like to know who's going to be coaching them.
Bottom line is this type of public negativity isn't helping anything and actually could be hurting the program. We're 4-0 with a P5 win, if we end up with 4 or 5 regular season losses I may join in but it's ridiculous to do so at this point.

Yep, plus they have the convenience of hind sight and seeing if the plays work or not, whereas the coaches have like 30 to 45 seconds in the moment to decide on a play and get the right personnel in for the next play.NewApp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2019 8:10 amI think some just like to show off how much they know (or think they know) about football.Rick83 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2019 6:04 amI don't recall who specifically, but this board had many critics of Scott Satterfield as well, then a rich P5 hired him away. I’ve read all your comments, you have 0 clue what is going on. Saying the LB are being brought up while ignoring the loss of Stout doesn’t make you Bear Bryant my guy. But i get the feeling to wanna play DC on a message board, there’s quite a few of y’all.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2019 12:12 pmYou don't have to be a defensive coordinator to see the scheme has changed. If anyone opens this thread it should immediately link to remaining unbeaten FBS teams thread. Just saying.

I don't think I've commented in this thread but it could become historical and I wouldn't want to be left out of the annals of history.
Changing gears: why is Woody not welcome, a douche bag and never an App man? I must have missed something.

Please tell me where I'm ignoring the loss of Stout. I actually said losing players hurts. So maybe you didn't read all of my comments?Yosef10 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2019 5:04 pmI’ve read all your comments, you have 0 clue what is going on. When you're bringing in your best coverage LB to the line and your best coverage safety up for run support, that's 100% a change in scheme.
Again, I wouldn't have a problem with the change of scheme if it was started in camps. It simply wasn't.
The players are now getting the hang of the scheme and things are starting to click more.
I am expecting the defense to really show out this week. Almost like they've had 5 weeks of running it now -- about the same amount of time as fall camp. Interesting how that matches up.
I don't hate Roof. I also think it was dumb for the fire him rants. My only issue has been his changing of scheme at start of season instead of in camps.

Re: Ted Roof Comments
Technically, no, he wasn't an "App man"... But he did a lot for the program. The reason why he isn't welcome back is because his coaching style didn't go over too well with the "powers that be" and they prefer to not revisit that situation. I personally appreciate what Nate did with the program, but understand the choice to not bring him back after things I heard. Nothing heinous, just not a good look.
