My key to victory is Nate Noel getting 20-25 touches. And blitz 40-50% of the time. Bring it!
Vantrese (sp?) gets rid of the ball too quick for blitzing to work.
Well, sitting back and letting him pick out zone apart isn’t going to work
He doesn't sit back. He gets the ball out in about 2 seconds. It's a one read and go type system. Most of the reads are pre snap so he knows where he's going before ball is hiked.

You realize there's a line of scrimmage the defense can't pass until the ball is snapped, right?

I'm sure we will blitz by definition most of the time. We will likely send 4 often. And, by definition, that is a blitz. Just need to disguise where that 4th man comes from.

Exactly. So the correct scheme is to drop guys into throwing lanes. Drop a DE out and bring pressure from two backers. Change his eye line and confuse the OL blocking scheme.

Or drop DE and blood OLB or tight C. We have done that before.

Thinking our defense may be better against this type of offense, not having to man cover for long periods of time. It seems to be the kind of offense our Dbacks we’re recruited to play against.

Coastal did that on offense and I actually felt like the D played pretty well for most of the game. If our O can stay on the field and score some points (I think they will) I think our D will be fine.

A lot of pride on the line Saturday. Keeping the bowl streak alive is more important than the bowl, itself. First time in a long time that us losing wouldn't even be considered (much of) an upset. Forget betting lines, weather, holiday weekend, records, common opponents, etc... This is Stink, and it's the closest thing we have right now to a championship game. Finish strong. Go App!

I always wonder why they went with USA Yosef, especially the game they chose to wear it on. Chrome over the white would look great tho.

I like bringing the linebackers and dropping a DE. What this team doesn't have the personnel for is rushing three and dropping 8 on 3rd and longs. That has been a recipe for disaster all year. Bring four from somewhere every time, keep them guessing.

Agree. We can't put any combination of 3 linemen in there to bring any amount of pressure. We have shown some success when we disguise that extra rush with a backer and/or a secondary defender as well. We need to mix it up and just bring extra pressure every play. Confusion is our opportunity.

I don’t know about this being the most vitriol that our boys have faced. Maybe this year but the Louisiana student section is one of the worst environments around.
I could not disagree with you any more. How many Ragin Cagin games have you attended in Lafayette??
I was at the CCG game last season. The cops were asked to stand watch over the student section the whole game.
So was I and I sat basically right beside the UL student section. They were apathetic. We had no problem with them. You must have no experience with the Iggles if that is the benchmark on which you judge unruly students.
Clearly we had different experiences. It’s Thanksgiving week so I really have no desire to get into a pissing contest with you over this. Have a blessed week.
No offense intended. Actually, i think you are correct. I went to both games there in Lafayette last year. The reg season game was the one i was thinking about. Now that I recall things better, the CCG did include some unruly students who had to be restrained by the local police. However, the student section at GaSo is on its own unique uber obnoxious level, based on my trips down there in the Armanti years. I am heading back there Friday & will let you know what i see.

I tend to give Georgia Southern fans a break when it comes to their behavior. I’m sure that it’s just a by-product of the generations of inbreeding.
