It's interesting to look at the CIT quarterfinal teams. In particular, Towson is 25-10 this year. Two years ago, Towson ended a 41 game losing streak on their way to a 1-31 record. Shows how quickly fortunes can change in college basketball.

Ellis is pushing 70. He needs to ride it out where he is. We can afford anything Coastal can afford; we just don't need to start a Medicare clinic at HCC.

Interesting comments from former Dukie, Grant Hill... . I disagree with him, though. I don't think people hated Laettner and Hurley because of their skin color. I think people hated them because they were smug, arrogant pricks from the northeast...no wonder they fit in nicely at Duke.
And, no, I am not a tar hole fan, or a fan of any other school in the ACC.

Agreed! That would be a strong move; and a popular one with me. EddieB is a good position coach and a good guy. Would make the staff stronger. He played for the legendary Everette Case and Press Maravich and coached under Norm Sloan. That's a pretty good pedigree.

Have a couple of friends who knows the Bidenbach's. Both say they moved to Wilmington to retire (he is 68) and Eddie took the UNCW job for something to do. He was not interested in the head coaching job and highly doubtful he can be persuaded leave the coast at this point in his life.

I said I didn't want Cliff Ellis as our head coach at that age. I could see either Ellis or Biedenbach as assoc. head coach. There's a huge difference between the head coach and the lead assistant.

For the record, I doubt either will occur.

Lutz had his best years in CUSA (135-83 OA, 70-42 C) and struggled once he got into the A-10 (83-75 OA, 41-39 C). His 09-10 (last) team was supposed to be his best and they flopped to 9-7 Conference record and a 5th place finish. A overall record of 218-158 isn't exactly terrible so you wonder why UNCC fired him with 3 years left on his contract.
