Leaving at Halftime

Unread post by NewApp » Sat Dec 19, 2015 10:25 pm

It was refreshing to see that we in KBS aren't the only ones who have groves of fans leaving during or shortly after half time. The Ohio side's stands were pretty much empty during the second half when the cameras showed them.

No one left that stadium.... Their side was empty in sections to begin with.

Huge sections empty and sparse crowd elsewhere on that side. I thought the game was said to be a sell out. There must have been hundreds or even thousands of no shows, then.

There were huge empty spots over there from the get go. Our side was freaking packed. I've never had to sit so close to people, it was awesome! Our section was loud and proud.

I'm sure many of he halftime leavers are Montgomery residents.

We moved lower after the game started and it seemed like a bunch of locals were sitting around us... A group got up to leave about half way through the third quarter and I told them not to. Bet they are kicking themselves now!

You mean where our band was sitting? You must have seen it when they were not in their seats.

It appeared from TV as the game went on and the locals left, our crowd started migrating together towards the band. That is why the end opposite the band was empty at the end of the game. Very proud of our fans - loud and hung in there. Only thing that would have made it better is if I could have been in the middle of it.

We were near the band around the 30 yard line and packed like sardines. It was the most fun I've had in many moons. What a great bunch of fans and a team with the heart of a lion!
Can't wait for next season! See everyone in Knoxville!

Yep, wouldn't want to be on top of each other like that all the time but last night was a blast.

Before going in the stadium there was someone on the street giving away free tickets. I was surprised since I thought it was sold out. Must have been one of the corporate ticket buyers. My area on the 30 near the band was packed and loud as could be. I was totally drained by the end of the game.

Either way the large wall of black looked (and sounded) good on tv.

Butts in the seats on the App side I'd say 10,000 on the Ohio side Maybe 4-5k?

Had to chuckle.. people in front of my group left with 1 min left in the 3rd... We passed them in the street after the game. The left, and couldn't get back in. They had to watch from the street... Ya just never know with football.
