Next Year
I'm still as happy as a man can be after Saturday, but was doing a bit of work and added the 2016 football schedule to the schedules link above, and I won't lie - got a pit in my stomach about next year. I knew of our 4 non-conference games, but didn't realize they were back to back to back to back. If we aren't careful, we could start the season 0-4 which would really deflate the momentum this season has given us. Absolutely not trying to pee on parades and let's enjoy this victory for the next 250+ days, but I am nervous about our start next year and the potential impact it may have on the rest of the year. Really hope we get a bye week after the Akron game to reset before conference play starts.

Re: Next Year
By themselves I'm not either, but they are sandwiched between Tennessee and Miami, so it would be very easy to lose focus and overlook ODU. Not something I expect to happen though.AppState89 wrote:I'm not to worried about ODU

Re: Next Year
We should be worried about everyone on our schedule. Realistically, we will be favored in two of those OOC games and the dog in two. However, three of the four teams will have been in bowl games this year. So, that will be a significantly more difficult start to a season that we have likely had. Not to mention that our road SBC games could be more difficult next year. No reason we can't find ourselves right back here next year, but don't fool yourself it will be a tougher road to get to this point next season.

Re: Next Year
Ten wins next year will be one hell of an accomplishment. It means we either ran the table in the Sun Belt, beat one of Miami or Tennessee, or won our second straight bowl game.

Re: Next Year
Yup, I'm glad we're challenging ourselves though. None of those games will be cakewalks, I even expect ODU to be much improved. But win three of them then run the table in the conference (much easier said than done lol) and we'll find ourselves in an NY6 bowl probably. A record like 8-5 or 9-4 is much more realistic, but until the games are actually played I always firmly believe we're gonna win every single one of em.

Re: Next Year
It's a challenging schedule, but if we go 0-4, we've got bigger problems than the schedule.
