FIRE SAT & WOODY!!!!!!! Sorry, just had to. Ha ha.

Wasn't to long ago a lot were calling for their heads. We kept saying, just give them time. I think we got here faster than we thought.

Everyone there Saturday (who got to see it in person), do you know we just made history in 3 ways???

1- 1st Bowl game in App State history
2- 1st FBS school to win their first BOWL GAME
3- 1st Sun Belt team to win 11 games
AppState89 AKA Robert Martin :D :D

Satt is one of us. He bleeds black and gold. He is here because like us, App is in his heart. I see him here awhile. He wants to mold young men and see our program and university thrive. He isn't like Fritzy. I hope he will have a Jerry Moore tenure. Jerry was offered several big paychecks to leave and turned them down because we gave him the chance to get back into coaching. I sense this from Scott at the level of an alum who loves his school and the team he has been part of for over 20 yrs.

Don't know what's next, but we're already on par (on the field at least) with many of the G5 programs people are naming here. We were better than Boise this year. Memphis has had two good years and lost their coach, so they're not really any more established than we are.

I would like to think that since Satterfield is a former player and coach at App, I would like to think that he's more emotionally invested in the team than some other coach who would randomly apply to the opening. Hopefully he would stay as long as they are successful and guide the team forward for the foreseeable future (barring them tanking)

For right now we need to keep being successful and getting bowl bids and more importantly bowl victories as well as a SBC championship. In the event that say the Big XII decide that they need two more teams to have a championship game for their conference, I would assume that they would either poach Boise State from the MW or a couple of teams from AAC or C-USA (Houston and Memphis come to mind) which would probably set off another realignment race which I hope would have us as one of the teams those conferences would be seriously considering to fill those gaps.

But as I said, we need to prove ourselves as a perennial SBC powerhouse with hardware piling up in the field house in the meantime. Boone doesn't really wreak of TV market dollars, so to move up we'll have to have the value on the on-field product.

I'd like to think that about Satterfield, too, but I'm prepared for him to take a P5 offer if he gets it and it's local. I'm very glad that Virginia, Virginia Tech, and South Carolina all came open this year.

As far as TV markets, I'd say that App plays at least as well in the Charlotte market as UNCC does, and if a conference isn't smart enough to realize that, well then I'd say that's a conference I'm not sure I want to be in anyway. I'd like to stay away from places without competent leadership, which is my biggest complaint in the Sun Belt right now.

A big thing we can keep doing is traveling well. Get to away games when we can, and show out at bowl games. Those little things will help when smart ADs get together and start talking the merits of one team against another.

1. Recruiting - lots of injuries exposed holes in current depth.
2. Rehab of injuries and S&C - I'd like to see more athletics fund pumped into S&C program and raise for staff.
3. Coaches - Gillin mentioned raises were coming for assts, this needs to happen ASAP.
4. KBS / Facilities - Please no investment in expansion yet until we sellout every game in a season. If their is a waiting list for more club seats than that expansion only makes sense. Better to use funds on continuing to make enhancements such as the audio system, video board, lights, turf, BLACK ENDZONES, and re-do of old field house / plaza area.

Go 'Neers!
