Do you have any basis for that or are you speculating?Yosef wrote:Highly doubt ESPN pushes us to move our game to Friday and then when we (App and Miami) says no, they reward us with Gameday.

Re: Schedule Released
The only way Gameday comes to Boone for the Miami game is if we knock of Tennessee Week 1. Even then it's a stretch.
Love the schedule for next year.

Weren't there rumblings last year that if we had played Southern on that saturday we could of gotten it? That would of been the weekend when they went to JMU.Yosef10 wrote:I have a better shot at growing wings and flying to the moon than Gameday being in Boone

No rumblings out of ESPN or any other sports media site. I'm sure the idea was brought up here. JMUs biggest advocate and reason they were awarded the show was Lee Fitting, the producer of Gameday, and he's a JMU alum.RollNeers wrote:Weren't there rumblings last year that if we had played Southern on that saturday we could of gotten it? Re: Schedule Released
It's not necessarily unthinkable that we could get ESPN to Boone at sometime in the next few years, but they tend to do those smaller-site visits like JMU and ND State during a random midseason week where the national schedule is light on big games. As previously noted, that won't be the case on 9/17.

Eh they didn't come when we won 3 NC's in a row, which had never been done before in CFB. It is pretty unthinkable in my eyes that they would now come to a sunbelt school whose biggest announced home game on the horizon is arguably the worst P5 program in the country in Wake Forest.

Re: Schedule Released
I don't believe they'd started doing the annual FCS Gameday show back then. Now, it's true that they haven't done any at Sun Belt schools, and I think they've done few if any at G5 locations. So I'm not saying to expect them in Boone any time soon.Yosef10 wrote:Eh they didn't come when we won 3 NC's in a row, which had never been done before in CFB. We'll have to make a bigger splash than winning the Camellia Bowl, but I don't think it's such a stretch to think they might replace those FCS sites with G5 ones in future years.

Re: Schedule Released
I'm 100% speculating that ESPN won't have Gameday in Boone for the game they asked us to move to Friday. Same as if on a weekend trip to Boone my wife asks me to go shopping with her in Blowing Rock and I tell her to shove it. I'm 100% speculating that she's not going to go get food and drink for me at the game that afternoon. I don't know about you, but I think that speculation is a pretty safe bet.Gonzo wrote:Do you have any basis for that or are you speculating?Yosef wrote:Highly doubt ESPN pushes us to move our game to Friday and then when we (App and Miami) says no, they reward us with Gameday.
