David Jackson Resigns
David is an A+ human being and Black & Gold to the core. I wish him nothing but the best. Here's hoping that you're wildly successful in anything and everything you do from here on out, DJ!

Re: David Jackson Resigns
I can't imagine App sports without DJ's voice. He did so much more than call the games too. This is a profound loss for App Nation, but I respect a decision that puts family 1st.

Re: David Jackson Resigns
No one worked harder to make App State as great as it could be than David Jackson. He's irreplaceable. The best we can do is simply find the best alternative.

Kinda sad it only netted about a 4 paragraph release too. He did more for that department than anyone lately and deserved more.

With technology today is travel really required for the play by play?
Very sad to hear this news, thanks for all the memories the past 15+ years David. You've been there through some of the best of them and you'll be missed. Good luck going forward.

Re: David Jackson Resigns
Many of us old-heads (and I imagine some young dudes as well) have made career decisions that have been really tough - As I am sure this one was for David - there is nothing, NOTHING, more important than family. David, you were the BEST - PERIOD!!! But you will be a success at all you take-on down your road. Back many years ago when looking to make a change that would take me away from what I loved doing (coaching in high school) I had a wise older woman tell me - "I HAVE WORKED FOR YEARS WITH PEOPLE WHO WERE FACING THEIR END OF DAYS AND NOT ONCE DID I EVER HEAR THE WORDS "I WISH I HAD SPENT MORE TIME WITH MY JOB"!!!"
Take care and always remember - YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE !!!

David is the best. I'm going to miss hearing him call the games, but I applaud him for putting his family first. Good luck wherever you go, and come back when your kids are at App!

Does the audio for the Furman "go for 2" play exist anywhere online? As iconic as the Michigan call is, I think that might be my favorite DJ call ever.

I am sad. Sat with him in the booth a few years ago. A great passion for calling the game.

Re: David Jackson Resigns
Good luck replacing Jackson, clearly he was a big part of the App game day experience. It seems odd to me that you had an Associate AD calling games. That seems like the most expensive way possible to pay for that role. Do other schools do it this way? I know that Charlotte and Davidson each have long-time media people that get paid just for the games. Will App look to replace him with another staff member?
