The David Jackson Era [The Black & Gold Podcast]
It's an honor to say we've built a relationship with David in such a way that he was willing (and eager) to come on the show as soon as possible since the news broke. The legend Steve Brown joins in the last segment as well!
This is a long show but to those that object we say... WHO CARES!?!?!? Press pause and listen later!
We do discuss baseball (they had a great weekend) for about 20 minutes. The rest is ALL DJ and having Brownie join in on the memories makes it even more special.
I hope you all enjoy this one as much as we did.

Thanks! I have to agree. Big C and I spoke after we recorded the baseball segment and he asked me "Did you ever think that our show would ultimately be the last place people could hear DJ and Brownie again?"hapapp wrote:Thanks...the best yet!
This show could've been much longer with more stories. Can't wait until the next one with Young Steve and Diamond David.

That was 2 hours well spent. Listen at 1:30:00 or 1:31:00 mark as David talks about how easy it was to answer calls on the 5th quarter show when App went 14-1. He said , nobody had much to complain about game wise so they would bring up things like, "hey, they don't put any ice in the stadium cups"............. CLASSIC

I enjoyed my all-day listening (could only listen in 20 - 30 clips). David totally gets it with the statement "APP is the common Thread of the fan base". Our love for APP is the same whether we are from the 50's, 80's, or 2000's regardless of the memories from our time frame.

After getting to know DJ over the past several months, he "gets" just about everything related to App State. He was a company man with the heart and soul of the true App State fan.huskie3 wrote:I enjoyed my all-day listening (could only listen in 20 - 30 clips). As I said in the show, DJ only became involved with our show because he thought it would enhance the relationship between the athletic department and the fans. Who else in the AD's office thinks that way or is brave enough to stick their neck out and engage with a couple of fans? No one.
