While I am disappointed the students leave early, that happened when I was there too. It happens in other places and it will continue to happen. I'm not sure there is much that can be done. The students were definitely in the game during the 2nd half yesterday, as was most of the crowd. It was SO loud during one of our defensive stands. Haven't heard noise like that since the Halloween game.

One of the things I was most disappointed in yesterday were the empty season-ticket holder seats. I am also blown away by the lack of participation by those same ticket holders. I have season tickets and always feel judged for yelling during the game. I can't tell you how many looks my family and I have gotten for screaming and making noise. I know people who have had others around them tell them they needed to quiet down or ask "Why are you yelling so much?" SERIOUSLY?! I didn't realize you had to be quiet during a game! That worries me more so than the students. They do a pretty decent job I think.

I'm not able to make the playoff game due to obligations, but am watching the game on ESPN3. Students are leaving the game early once again - right before half-time is starting (as we're charging down the field). IT IS THE FREAKING PLAYOFFS!!! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?? We need fans to stay and support the team - not Klondike.

I'm pro FBS move, but have real concerns that these students won't even make it past the first quarter (and other so-called "fans" that leave early) if we struggle with bigger FBS opponents.

When the athletic department is picking up the tab for these students to attend playoff games I don't think it is unreasonable to expect them to stay until the end. The students who really get into the game and give the Apps a true home field advantage are great, but we have a lot who are simply there for the social aspect. Heard where several said they were leaving early to watch the GA Alabama game. Great fans eh? I thought the season ticket crowd turnout was pathetic. Embarassing for such a picture perfect day. Real fans eh?

One thing I do not like is the students saying "You Suck a##hole" when we kick off. Other schoo'ls fans encourage their team covering or returning kicks, but for some reason our students decide to be aholes themselves. I am no prude, but that garbage has to stop.

Picking up the tab? Have you cared to look at how much they pay in athletic fees . I'd gladly pay for season tickets rather than have to pay the athletic fees. If they are just football fans, they pay all year for the possibility of seeing maybe six games or picking up a few mediocre basketball games..
They're paying a large chunk, if not most, of the atheltic facilities including the Kidd Brewer stadium enhancement.

I didn't notice too many people leaving Saturday. I did think turnout was better than expected, but I was hoping for more. The fans that did show up were are our true App fans and got very loud when it mattered. That's being the 12th man and supporting the team IMO. We even obsereved one fan that has been silently sitting a few rows in front of us for many years get up and yell with us in the 2nd half. He can actually talk, who knew? It was like a small miracle.

Here is the fact. Every game they pour out in very large numbers no matter what is happening on the field. Saturday was different. Very few left and it was louder than it has ever been. The students did a fantastic job as did everyone else who was there. Now that JM has been fired those that were NOT there missed his last game. There loss not ours. Everyone in that stadium did a GREAT job on and off the field.

Sadly, student leaving early is a problem everywhere other than Montana, but that is because their feet are frozen in place.

This has honestly happened every year since I got here (2009). Yes, I do notice more and more students are leaving earlier and earlier, but do they make a difference in the noise level? No, the ones that leave are the ones that sit and don't yell for a single play. The ones that care about the game and the ones that are making all the noise are there until the end of the game, every single game. Sure, it doesn't look as good when our stadium isn't packed, but as mentioned before, the people that leave are either freezing due to lack of layers or the people that just want to party and couldn't care less about the outcome of the game.

Some students will leave, they even did 35 years ago (and Yes that makes us old, but we still raise some hell at an App game) when we were at ASU. Let em go, they gotta party. Now the students that were at the ISU playoff game please keep coming back. I didn't really notice anybody leaving. Those students Saturday were awesome and loud as hell! !

(I did miss seeing the girls on the dance team though, so I guess we gotta go to some bball games now.)

In a perfect world, no one would leave a game early and would stand & be loud the full game. I have taken the attitude personally that if someone wants to waste their money by leaving early, so be it. I missed this playoff game (I am a season ticket holder) because my wife waited until after the regular season to have hip replacement surgery (she's a trooper.) We planned it this way so as to minimize missing games (we were hoping somehow to make it to a semi-final if the stars aligned.)

I watched it on ESPN3 and KBS looked fairly full (except upper left and right corners on the West side.) It looked like most of the students left the end zone but the other student sections looked full to me. Based on past history, I thought 16-17k was a decent turnout for out 1st playoff game.

fair enough, i agree. especially with the way they are performing! shamefully, with this current crop of freshman and sophomores, i thought halftime would be a bit much as they cant seem to manage to stand through the changing of quarters?! What the heck is that?!
