While I agree that polls aren't very important for established programs, I do think it would be very significant for App to be ranked, especially at the end of the year. Remember there are still people out there who don't know we moved up from FCS. Our name still gets used synonymously with "small-time program." I think being ranked would go further toward changing that than anything we do in the Sun Belt.

Has any SBC teams received votes in preseason Coaches' Polls? I would assume so, but none have been ranked before, so just curious.

Southern got a few votes last year (when Fritz and Paul Johnson were on the panel - so what's good for the goose and all...). So how does it work? Assuming Satt votes us #1 do we need other coaches votes to be where we are?

Satt could have gotten us 4 points if he ranked us #22, or of course multiple coaches could have ranked us lower.
