Blair Training Camp

Unread post by Rekdiver » Fri Aug 05, 2016 1:31 pm

This from a Ron Barrow tweet on August 2:
49ers wrap up first padded -- and their longest - practice of training camp. Anthony Davis, Arik Armstead, Ronald Blair among the standouts.

Went on 49er website and there is a good interview with Kilgore that includes several bits with Blair. Really good App stuff

Day 5 training camp (day 4 he took snaps at outside linebacker). Ronald Blair continued to flash his play-making ability. The rookie defensive lineman sacked Kaepernick in the opening 11-on-11 period of practice

In a conversation with 49ers Jim O'Neil and SB49er Nation

Is DL Ronald Blair, is he a guy you envision at all four of those spots when you go four down up front? I notice he’s been working a lot on the edge lately.

“Yeah. His versatility will allow him to play everywhere across the front. He’s a guy that as we get a little bit deeper into camp, he’s a guy we’ll probably create some packages for. You can’t ignore his playmaking ability out here at practice so far. He makes plays wherever he’s aligned along the front. Whether it’s at the nose, the three, end, he’s a guy that you can move around and do some things with him from a pressure standpoint. We’re going to teach him some drop stuff. So, there’s a lot, he’s a big part of our plans in the next couple weeks.”

ESPN late to the party:

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The San Francisco 49ers
5. Who are some sleepers that might surprise this year?: To my eye, one guy who looks to have some promise that might be flying under the radar is defensive lineman Ronald Blair. The fifth-round pick out of Appalachian State is opening some eyes with his athleticism and has a chance to contribute in multiple ways.

"His versatility will allow him to play everywhere across the front," O'Neil said. "He's a guy we'll probably create some packages for. You can't ignore his playmaking ability out here at practice so far. He makes plays wherever he's aligned along the front.

"He's a big part of our plans in the next couple weeks."
