Good find. They have no other home games scheduled for 2021, so I'm guessing that move was on our end. Perhaps clearing the way for a money game (since our other road game that year is Miami, which we won't get paid for).

That was my first thought, but we already have a home date available, and Gillin talked in the B&G podcast about the challenges of having the game at Miami that doesn't bring us any revenue, and possibly needing to balance that out financially somewhere.

We could still play ECU at home that year, I'm just thinking this might have been done for something else. But of course I'm just guessing.

This clears an away game off our schedule so that if we do the ECU game in Charlotte in 2021, we still have the ability to add another home game in Boone keeping 6 home games in Boone. If we are getting a good share of revenue from the Charlotte game, that helps shore up the revenue shortfall from Miami. All of that is a big if - but it makes a whole lot of sense to structure 2021 that way in my mind.
