VT Trash talking

Unread post by WVAppsfan » Wed Sep 07, 2016 11:29 am

This morning in a meeting two VT fans started their banter about we will do what you all could not. I say that Tennessee runs over them like an elephant running to steal a peanut from a mouse.

I just found it ironic that they took the time to give App State some credit.

They couldn't cover the Spread against FCS Liberty. I wouldn't be talking any trash if I was a VT fan.

I watched the game between VT and Liberty and was NOT impressed with the Hokies. I think Tennessee handles them this weekend and doubter will start to realize that App is for real. They certainly won't all come around at once, but it will be a start.

Ah yes...The typical VT fan. Think they're the best, although have not done anything significant since the days of Vick. I hate with a passion VT fans, and see and hear a good amount of them where I live. They will be lucky to finish 7-5 this year.

I beg to differ. I think they can beat UT. If Foster has the D back to what it was a couple of years ago, they can make it a competitive game. Offensively, they will be more balanced than we were. The question facing Tech is ball security. That was a problem in game 1. They have a dynamic new QB and he will be the key to Tech's success. If he can prevent turning it over they can cause some problems. Unlike us, their WR corps is experienced. They will test UT thru the air. Not sure they can provide the ground game we did. I think we all will watch that game with some interest.

I think Tennessee handles them fairly convincingly.

Guys we handed them the blue print to defeat UTk, the great Foster should be able to replicate App's defense and then some right?

In my 17 years living in the Commonwealth of Virginia, I have found two truths: 1. There is only a small sliver of Northwestern North Carolina I'd rather live, and 2. You can't tell Tech fans anything. They're almost as hard-headed as CHeat fans. Almost.

Go Vols.

According to Tennessee fans, they kept their game plan vanilla as possible and prevented Dobbs from running as they were afraid he might get hurt. Looks to me like he took a pretty good beating anyway, especially on the overtime fumble play. That said I hope the Vols curb stomp VaTech......and we curb stomp ODU.....just like UVA got curb stomped by the Spiders last week.....just let the entire state's FBS get curb stomped!

Up and down I-81 from Washington to Frederick Counties...FULL of arrogant Hokies.

Side note, a Tennessee win looks better for us than if they lose (Thinking big picture).

Growing up on the border of WV and VA (near where WVAppsfan grew up) my 2 favorite teams were WVU and VPI - we had 2 hometown radio stations - one carried WVU and the other VT --- these days WV and VT are still 2 of my favorite teams but well behind APP - that being said, I gotta pull for the Vols - VT isn't going anywhere this year and every Vol win should help us as long we keep winning !!!

After 14 years living in Va, I agree with both of your truths.

HokiePokies aren't quite as bad as UNCheat fans but only because their basketball team is a dumpster fire and they know it (but won't admit it).

I think curb stomp is a top 5 as far as cool terms used to describe beating an opponent thoroughly- lol.

In my 16 years here I have to agree. The only Tech fan I know who is reasonable works for me. He actually played for them so unlike most of their fans he knows what he is talking about. He texted me all through the game last Thursday. He thinks we would beat VT if we played them today.

As much as I dislike UTk fans for their "He's a p*ssy" chant while our players were cramping up, that has nothing to do with the team itself. We need Tennessee to look good in that game.

I took a peek at the VT boards after reading this thread and a whole lot of their fans are predicting a Hokie loss this weekend. And a lot are expecting the Vols to score more than they did last week while VT scores fewer than we did.

I read that as respect.

I live in Tech's backyard and will be pulling for UT but I wouldn't sell them short.

and I wouldn't put them anywhere near the tarhole fans - VT fans root for their team win or lose and they don't leave Lane Stadium once the Hokies get behind ---

My hopes are we go into Bristol and play like we're capable of playing, and as one of you put it so nicely, curb stomp VT. We both come out of that game looking good. As well as an convincing App victory over ODU.

Go Vols! Go Mountaineers!

Ps. The white unis are slick!
