Re: Breaking News
Only bad things can come from this. For those that called for the release of those documents in support of Moore I hope you remember that.

Re: Breaking News
Some things are better left unsaid or in this case unreported. I know that any state employee email records are technically public domain but I agree this will only make things uglier and makes me wonder the motivation of those who requested this.

Re: Breaking News
Just posted this on Rivals. Will this never end. Let's drag App through the mud a little more. If EVERYTHING comes out then JM will be more on the shorter end of the stick than some think. It will be interesting to see how much they choose to release, how much they report on, and how they spin it.Maxhr203 wrote:Watauga Democrat has FOI documents from ASU

Re: Breaking News
Well, you might be right. However, another possibility exists. They MIGHT show that CC & the Chancellor correctly described their understanding all along. That should silence all the conspiracy theorists out there. It would mean that Coach Moore either remembered their meeting differently or simply forgot about it.Saint3333 wrote:Only bad things can come from this. Much as I love Coach Moore, I also value an administration that says what it means, tells the truth, and follows through when it must. I expect that is what those documents show.

Re: Breaking News
I too have the feeling that this was meant to back up Team Moore but I doubt it does. As I wrote this morning, I feel like we'll be knowing more about the Chris Moore situation.

Re: Breaking News
Some people need to be slapped senseless. Those in support of Moore thought this was going to be a great idea. Ever heard the saying, "leave well enough alone"? Some of you just can't stop flapping your gums on here and once you finally shut up here you run to other forums and App sites, change your name and then start there. One of these days some of you will see that the rose colored glasses have to come off and you have to face reality.

Re: Breaking News
Todd-Not sure who exactly you are referring too but it looks like all who have posted on this thread so far are all saying the same thing. This will end badly for JM, his family, and his supporters if everything comes out. That's what I said and I just want it all to end. No rose colored glasses here. And I'm not in the support Moore corner. I have said several times it's time for a new start. I just want that start to happen sooner rather than later. Might take some of the focus off this circus.ASUTodd wrote:Some people need to be slapped senseless. Those in support of Moore thought this was going to be a great idea. I understand. I've read those comments and it's far beyond ridiculous. I'm so sick of this all and I really wish we could just move on. I understand the venting and I'll join you.ASUTodd wrote:Firemoose- just an observation from other posts and the fact they are going to release this info. Its all asinine. Re: Breaking News
I feel like this could be our coaching search, it sure did seem this way for basketball. I will be a slight bit worried until the final name is announced. At least a smidgen worried.

Re: Breaking News
I doubt that will happen. There are morons out there that still think the US never landed on the moon and 9/11 was an inside job. There will be those nut cases that will forever believe Coach Moore was fired and there was no agreement, no matter what the evidence, to their graves.AppAlum1 wrote:They MIGHT show that CC & the Chancellor correctly described their understanding all along. Re: Breaking News
If this makes Jerry look bad he deserves it, he could have let this thing die but his comments to the newspaper about not knowing of an agreement and that he was blindsided brought this on.
Everyone called Cobb a liar, what will they say now?
Jerry could have ridden off into the sunset, instead he playing with the horse and got kicked. It never pays to be bitter.
I had a lot more respect for Jerry before he chose to cry on the shoulder of the Asheville Times and The Journal. That was a dumb move. That newspaper press conference Jerry had was a passive aggressive power play under the "I don't want to stir the pot" BS.
Of course if this documentation proves Cobb wrong, which I doubt, I'll be glad to admit I was wrong as well.

Re: Breaking News
Maybe they just want to report the truth. On the one hand, I would prefer this not be all out there, but ASU is a public institution - and as such most any email is fair game and many records. I would much rather have the local press digging deep into ASU than being a homer and letting any crap go uncovered do to lack of concern or the need to be a cheerleader for the university. If ASU admin and staff is doing right, then there is no concern as an organization. If individuals have had issues then having those issues see the light of day is very valuable in a democracy. We should not be expecting exceptions for athletics or our alma mater in general for that matter.ASUTodd wrote:They just want to sell papers and ad space.... If Jerry was hiding something about his son and it comes out, then that is the price he pays for his actions - both Chris and Jerry. If that is not the issue but Jerry comes out as a bit senile forgetting about important meetings then so be it. I will not think less of him. If Peacock and Cobb are caught in a situations of mistruths, then we may find that out.
I do know the only way to get this straightened out is to have the records be examined. I don't have time to do that , but I do appreciate an independent press that has the time, person-power and desire to seek the truth. If the WD has an axe to grind for one side or the other that will also be able to come out. I realize they may have a side in this as well and be pro-Jerry more than pro-Cobb or vice versa for that matter.
TL;DR The truth shall set you free.

Re: Breaking News
I agree, I'm sick of this already. Enough. It's done. Let's move on. Jerry shouldn't have made any comments about being blindsided or wanting to coach another year, knowing it would stir up trouble for the university he has loved the last 24 years. Ride off into the sunset. You coached a long time. I believe Peacock and especially Cobb's memory over 73-year old Jerry's, sorry. They're not going to throw him under the bus. How do you tell a legend it's time to go? We're moving up and Jerry wanted no part of it. I hate this has turned into another Bowden deal. Sometimes these old guys just can't let go, it's all they know.
p.s. don't title a thread "Breaking News" with the anticipation of a FBS move-up.

Re: Breaking News
Seems to me that the people that are crying the most on here are the "how ca you question the almighty Cobb" crowd...
I, for one, am interested in the truth behind it all...
But more than likely it'll just backup what we all know
Moore and Cobb had an agreement that 2012 was it before the season.
Moore wanted another year and Cobb said no
Cobb made a horrible decision and announced the retirement/firing in the worst way possible...
The end.
