I know we have a good team, and we played Tennessee close (not sure Tennessee was ready for us).....however, this is a well coached pissed off Miami team that has been forced to come to Boone. Their players aren't happy about that and I can guarantee that Richt will stop at nothing to win this game. I think there will be some sad App fans on sat. It would be no different if we were forced to go to Catawba College and play them this year. They could be 100-0 but we would make sure we won that game. I'll be estatic if we win, and I will gladly eat crow.....but I'll just be happy if it's close.

Great post. I love my university, but I can definitely understand why their fans look at our track encircled stadium and small stands and question "why are we going there?". To think otherwise is foolish. Multiple FBS national championships, featured on ESPN's 30 for 30, a nationally ranked team. Despite being down as of late, Miami is as real of a deal as we may ever see in Boone. I think your analogy is appropriate. I would prefer to see a little more humility from our fans. We will not see Ohio State or Notre Dame or Southern Cal or Alabama ever walk into KBS.

I hope to hell we win, but I do not like the cockiness of our fans, nor the Vegas line right now. Everyone is really high on us based off a close loss. Miami IMO matches up much better with what we do as opposed to Tennessee. I hope I'm wrong.

I haven't seen any cockiness, just passionate, hopeful fans. We have pride in our school and team and believe we can pull off the upset at home. I'm excited for the opportunity to host a school like Miami, but I don't worship them and will not bow before them just because of their history and prestige.

Strong academics, a successful athletic program, a commitment to a better community...all those things shape the perception of a university. Fan behavior and conduct can as well. I do hope we serve as good hosts on Saturday to our visitors. How well we treat opposing fans can play a role in scheduling future home games. We don't need to be seen as a hostile place for visiting fans. (Opposing teams yes but not their fans). I'm hopeful all this internet banter stays there.

WXAPP, We routinely have an attendance between 40,000 to 45,000 in our "big empty stadium" except when teams such as Notre Dame, Univ. of FL, FSU, and OSU visit, then we have in excess of 80,000. We also routinely play in front of between 70,000 to 90,000 on the road. So, why do you think we might get a bit overwhelmed? I understand that the mountains enclose and increase the sound. However, I can't imagine it being any louder than playing the Univ. of FL in the "Swamp" which is literally down in a hole and over 100 degrees in Sept. Coach Richt has had heavy noise on loud speakers at practice all week and will probably go to non-verbal calls.

I honestly think ASU wins this game ... I may by myself but I think they are the better team ... Tenn win was a fluke.. ASU outplayed Tenn in every facet except the kicking game .. Their win hinged on a fluke forward fumble that resulted in a TD .. It took the Volunteers a missed extra point, a missed fg , AND that stinking fumble TD to tie us ...

Your post is insulting. Miami coming here is very different than us going to Catawba. Miami is in our same division, same scholarships, similar home attendance / gate, and the game should be competitive. None of those are true with Catawba.

App State and Miami are not in the same division (even though I think you meant class), we have 5 FBS level National Championships and 4 plays away from having 8. You guys are up and coming, but pump the brakes on the comparisons for the sake of accuracy.
