The offense has certainly made great strides. We shall never forgot how Quick's talents were completely wasted. Terrible. Price is a prime example of this. I don't think we could have been any better on the offensive side this year.AppinATL wrote: The record may have only been better by one game, but the offense was head and shoulders better than last year, or have you forgotten how truly painful it was to watch and how we wasted the considerable talents of Brian Quick, while the committee debated whether to run the ball to the left side or right side of the center?
I just remember how some folks thought that Satt was going to save the world when he was brought back last winter. However, in the end, we ended finishing with the same result, a loss in the 1st round. I just hope that the same folks do not expect things to be significantly better with him at the helm.

Loss was due to defense... not Offense.... When you score 30+ points in a game you SHOULD win...Coloradoneer wrote:The offense has certainly made great strides. If Tim Horton is offered the job he will be our next head coach not withstanding still having a job at Arkansas. Tim Horton is the best option we have and IMHO we will be making a big mistake not to hire him.

The APP football roster talent level across the board was less this season from recruiting gaps, injury, attrition, graduation, inexperience, and stupidity. However, the leadership, gameplanning, execution, and was head and shoulders above the previous three seasons of the committee. During those years APP actually had top talent ( seen by APP bodies in nfl camps and rosters) in the FCS that ended with 2 good playoff ass kickings to end the last 2 seasons. This year APP only had the Citadel game to hang our heads about. Leadership, guidance, and gameplanning helped the lack of talent this year from missing the playoffs.Coloradoneer wrote:The offense has certainly made great strides. AND App lead the entire nation this year in All-America players this year. Last year we had these guys AND the 2nd round draft pick, Presley, NFL player, and Cadet, NFL player.
Loaded with talent, yet no coaching.

Price was redshirted so take him out of that equation. And one was a punter.GlassOnion wrote:AND App lead the entire nation this year in All-America players this year. Last year we had these guys AND the 2nd round draft pick, Presley, NFL player, and Cadet, NFL player.

Price did not have to be redshirted, that was a coaching decision.ASUPATCH wrote:Price was redshirted so take him out of that equation. JJ healthy and mobile last year, and our passing offense clicking last year, Brian Quick, Sean Price, Travaris Cadet, Steven Miller, Peacock and Washington, our team had the pieces to go to at least the semi's. Price by mid season would have been up to form, our defense was GREAT at times, just got left on the field too long.
Had Satterfield been calling our plays, there is no doubt in my mind we could have gotten to the semi's.

Whoanellie, you managed to find someone that would make me want O'Cain in a two-man race. Kind of like how the Democrats have found someone that would make me wish for Hillary.appst89 wrote:Then our players could take out their own knees.whoanellie wrote:Pete Lembo?

Re: Who would you like as the next Head Coach?
Since we are now well into Tuesday following the big weekend interviews and still have no HC announcement, I'm starting to think that maybe we are looking at someone other than Satterfield. Otherwise, why in the hell wouldn't you go ahead and get this done? We could certainly use an announcement like this to turn attention away from the Moore exit debacle. Scott is here and ready, so if it is going to be him, what are we waiting for?

Chancellor Peacock is out-of-town until tomorrow. Announcement will probably be made after he returns!

Well, that makes sense then, that they'd hold off for him to be here. We'll see what happens next couple of days.
Re: Who would you like as the next Head Coach?
Me too. With Horton we get so much and anyone other than him would not give App the best opportunity we could have. Pick Horton, affirm Scott to same position, move Dale Jones from DC to just DL or LB coach, and let's get this thing rolling. Horton is a great recruiter and thus I think he, Sloan, Satterfield, and Stepp would be a lethal combination at this time of year.Gonzo wrote:I hope he's in Arkansas.JMappfan5 wrote:Chancellor Peacock is out-of-town until tomorrow. I hope SS gets the job, I think he is the best qualified to be our next head coach, but, it would not be a bad thing if Horton got the job. I think the odds are low that SS stays long term if he doesnt get the job, couldnt really blame him for leaving.

Re: Who would you like as the next Head Coach?
Agree. I hope it is Satterfield too and the announcement needs to come very soon IMO. This is dragging us down. We need to get it done and get on with Christmas and other important things.moehler wrote:I hope SS gets the job, I think he is the best qualified to be our next head coach, but, it would not be a bad thing if Horton got the job.
