And as for that Idaho win, UNLV isn't a world beating team, but Vegas had them favored by something like 15 or 20. And Idaho hasn't been good. So that was a significant win for them.

Let's actually win the Sun Belt before we think we're too big for the conference. That being said, yes, Troy is by far the best looking team in the league in 2016. Let's take them one at a time. Ready to be in Boone next week. Go Apps!

A QB like Knighten can camouflage a lot of flaws.
Yep. His running ability won a LOT of games for them.

Have you considered this is exactly how Coach Woody wants to play the "bubble screen"? - In my opinion, our guys played it well against Miami as well as yesterday - It sets up a 2 on 2 and if the WR gets a block, it's a 1 on 1 - When you hold you opponent to 6,7 yards in that wide-open scenario the Defense has done a very good job - It is clear our philosophy with pass-first teams is to make them work their way down the field - not to give up a quick strike - All you have to do is to look at our quick TD to Duffield - We threw a quick pass "bubble screen" for a gain - lined up to do it again, the Akron D moved closer to the line, one DB tried to jump what he thought was coming and there goes Duffield wide open for a long TD ---
The second drive of the Miami game was definitely not how Woody wants to defend the bubble screens. Good adjustment thereafter, but that then opened up the 40 yard bombs. His scheme works very well if you can pressure the QB, if their oline holds the scheme breaks down quickly. Like with any scheme you have to pick your battles.

Yet again we dodge two of the bottom half SBC teams due to scheduling.

There really is no way to get pressure on the QB on bubble screens as typically the ball is thrown very quickly - Even that 2nd Miami drive you are alluding was played very well by our 2 outside defenders - yes, they gained 7,8, 10 yards but with NFL quality wide receivers they didn't break it on those screens - The one TD where the receiver was the only one in the picture had to be a miscommunication - At least 2 of the "long bombs" along with the one right in front of the APP bench were not defendable as if all 3 had been an inch further they would have been incompletions - They weren't and we know the outcome - As you say, Pressure on the QB is key to our pass defense ---

Yeah but we get NMSU and Texas State this year. I still think we control our own destiny. GASO and Troy are going to be challenges but we should be able to handle everyone else I would think fairly well.
