That it is. Especially when the SunBelt is imploding before our very eyes... Ugh!

Great to see all wide receivers getting in the action and Meadors lead the team. Also, TJ Watkins was an old player who left the program and is now working his was back.....a pleasant surprise

Offense looked phenomenal, but the defense's inability to slow down the passing game still scares me. Definitely a concern of mine.

I was so happy to find the game on my cable but God that broadcast was horrible. How we can win running 2 plays on offense amazes me. I laughed every time that guy said it. The days of games on PBS were hard to take and that network Saturday was slightly better. The prolonged interview with the MAC Commissioner was awesome-

That interview with the MAC Commissioner had me yelling at the TV more than any play on the field did. I also thought the announcers were more biased than the SEC crew in Knoxville. They spent much of the 1st quarter giving us the scholastic transfer history of the Zip players as opposed to actually discussing the game was taking place in front of them.

As for the play on the field, I thought there was much improvement in the offense. Certainly the passing game, which really had no where to go but up (at least in terms of play calling), and Moore showed the world he's ready to carry the load of the running attack. On defense, the d-backs are getting better, but still have work to do. I'd like to have seen even more pressure on the Zip QB, and hope that improves against GaSt.

Offense was great and finally had good balance between pass and run.
Defense still needs to wrap up on tackles and DB's need to play closer to outside receivers.
A good road win over a good comparable opponent.
Now time to get ready for a well rested GaSt team that took Wisconsin to edge two weeks ago and has had two weeks to heal and prepare. Time for the defense to pull it all together again.

This 100 times, almost a carbon copy repeat of the first play vs. Miami at one pt. RB runs into the line stops, stands, takes off running again. Thank goodness we stopped him about 25 yrds down field.
I do not recall when this started, but we have a tackling problem. Would love to see the yards after contact stat, i think that would be stunning. It must be obvious on tape that teams think they can throw 10 yrds on us all day, thats what akron did. Looking like Loyola Marymount, Defense is playing just to give the Offense a break before they go back out to score.

Tackling problem has been going on for a long time. We and many other teams have a problem wrapping up. Too many time they are trying to knock a guy down instead of actually tackling and wrapping up. As I say many players on many teams are doing that but I only really care about us.

One good thing with the tune in app is the ability to pause the broadcast. I was able to mute the tv, sync the feed, & listen to Adam and Pierre. It was a must after the first time I heard Appalachian mispronounced.

I thought offensively we were terrific minus the fumble. They capitalized on the turnover and both fourth downs that we didn't convert. Kickoff returns were outstanding. How important was that score right before the half??? Moore ran with authority and newcomers Evans and Watkins had great games. Need to get Evans more touches, he is punishing when he runs.

Defense is still a work in progress. Need to get more pressure somehow. We still managed two interceptions and four sacks, but we had to hold on til the end. I think we have talent, just needs experience. Defense will improve.

I thought we tackled extremely well against Tennessee and swarmed like killer bees.

We need to get back to that.

I think we are noticing how good Ronald Blair and Latrell Gibbs really were.

AMEN....I agree to that and had that fear heading into season......then I went to Tennessee and came away thinking maybe we will be OK.

Still hope and think we can turn it around but Gibby and Blair are missed big time.

I mainly had the fear about replacing Blair since I hadn't seen a DE on the roster with his ability. He was just a freakish athlete. I didn't know that Gibbs would be ineligible, but I didn't anticipate problems with the passing D, even with who we have....and to be fair, Duck really has stepped up as a true freshman with some key interceptions and coverage. Maybe we're seeing some new looks from offenses that are figuring out our defensive schemes....just a guess.

Yes....Duck has been a sweet surprise. But again agree about roster on front line. We are going with undersized experience where I hoped one of the frosh would surprise but as I understand we have some projects in that category.

Yeah, I especially liked "Do you think we might be headed toward a Power Six, with the MAC being part of that group?"

The worst part with the announcers was when they were apparently unaware that a QB is allowed to pitch the ball beyond the line of scrimmage... although the refs didn't seem too clear on that either.

Oh and also the cameras were terrible, both in position (felt like watching the game from a blimp) and quality (sunny areas were totally washed out, could barely see the players at times).

The pitch past the line of scrimmage thing was killing us too. I thought that was pretty common knowledge for anyone with a slight interest in the game.
