It is. Sparingly might be ok. Can't afford for Taylor to take too many hits and get injured.appaneer1984 wrote:Personally I'd like to see run more of the triple option. I know it will never be as awesome as Armanti and KRich, but triple option is usually good for at least 6-8 yards if used at the right time and somewhat sparingly.

Also when you sit back and allow the short, quick pass there is no time for the dline to get sacks.Rekdiver wrote:I dont like to see any back (JM) get 39 carries in a game. I still think Taylor waits until the receives get open to throw...needs a lot of timing work with this new group. D Line is solid and the Oline is a beast. Not sure I like Satt's strategy of not getting in receivers faces and allowing short passes. I know he wants to avoid big plays but allowing teams to march down the field with a passive pass def strategy hoping our dline gets sacks is not always the best way.

I think that we play off the los on the outside to prevent the big play, partly because I don't think that our safeties are reliable enough to provide over the top help to Duck and Williams. I don't like to lay blame to the name on the back of the jerseys but our safeties are missing tackles. Miami had 4 plays over 50 yards and two of those were the direct result of missed tackles by safeties at the point of attack.
Another point to the playing off the line is to work in conjunction with our offensive strategy. By making the offense work down the field to say the 35 minimizes the field that needs to be covered and allows us to play more bump and run coverage. This chews up clock and minimizes possessions.

agreed, it's ok to have a few gimmicky plays as long as it's used sparinglyAppAttack wrote:It is. Sparingly might be ok.
