Wife and I are headed to the APP vs ULL game next Wednesday. Any suggestions on hotels or places to visit?

The Juliet Hotel is within walking distance to campus, not sure where the football stadium is in relation to the campus, but think its fairly close. The hotel is a small 20 room or so hotel and near some good eats. Don't go to Don's Seafood, thought it was awful. Filling Station or Pop's Poboys are good lunch options right by the hotel. As far as dinner, there are many places. Blue Moon Saloon is supposed to be a decent bar with music.

Also, on the way in, if you come from the Baton Rouge direction, its a cool drive through Atchafalaya.

Good people down there, too. Similar to North Carolinians, they just have weird sayings as all.

Blue Dog cafe is my favorite place to eat.

My Aunt (also App alum) is a resident of Lafayette. We haven't been down since '14 but will probably go for spring break next year.

Great food, everyone gets crayons to draw on the paper table clothes.

Shrimp Etouffee is my favorite. But I get the shrimp dinner (like 10 different versions of shrimp).

Bubba would be proud.

Hilton Garden Inn on campus across from stadium is great! Visit "le krew de chew," tailgate. They'll treat you like they've known you forever. Great food, great people.

I have been to Lafayette many times and the food there is great. You want to eat at:
Prejeans
3480 I-49 North
Lafayette, LA
337-896-3247
They have live Cajun music after 7:00 each night.

Randals in another great place that has live Cajun music each night. Is in Lafayette.

If you want to try a little bit more local fare go to Mulattes. It is just down the road in Beau Bridge. About 10-15 minutes away. Live Cajun music, great food and filled with local people.

Well, you beat me to it! I wanted to come here and invite any App State fans coming to Lafayette for the game to indeed come by and visit with us at the Krewe de Chew! Because it is a Wednesday night game, I'm sure not as many App State fans will be traveling as they would for a normal Saturday game. But the Krewe de Chew always enjoy visiting with fans of the opposing team and introduce them to a very unique tailgating experience. Because it is a Wednesday, we will only have two tents set up, rather than our usual three, but we always make room for everyone. If nothing else, make it your business to come by and witness our "Roosta" dance!!! For this game we will do "Da Roosta" at 4:00 & 5:30 PM. I guarantee you won't see this craziness anywhere else!!! LMAO!!!

Our tailgating location is just behind, and adjacent to, the maintenance building across from the Baseball stadium construction site. If you have any problem finding us, just ask and many of the other tailgaters know where we are. As noted, visit our website at http://www.krewedechew.net to learn more about our Krewe and location.

I hope to see and meet many of the App State fans that will make the trip. If you come by, I'll be the guy playing the music! Safe travels to all!!!!

I would love to make this game. Unfortunate circumstances at home and work schedule(and poor planning on my part) will prevent my attendance at this tailgate and game. Planning now to attend in two years!!

You've got to go to krewedechew. Good times. Love the Cajun culture and the people. If I didn't live here, I'd move to Lafayette.
