Re: Kicking is an issue.
Just thought I would give Michael a shout out for his improvement. While he will still have some rocky moments, as any Fr would (RS or true), he has steadily improved during the year, as was predicted by the minority on here. And for every kick like the 47 he made yesterday his confidence will grow and so will he. Congrats and keep up the good work Michael.

and kudos to Rubino for the tackle he made. Although I was really nervous that he was going to draw the targeting call, I truly respect a kicker who acts like a FOOTBALL player after kicking the ball and doesn't avoid the play.

Yeah...duh. Sorry. I don't know why I had Rubino in my head. I guess I forgot that Critcher does the kick offs. He is kicking at the same target he has been kicking at for as long as he has been kicking is he not?
Rubino, like all recruits, are recruited on their potential to develop. Coaches saw his strong leg and that is why he was sought after. Just needs to work on accuracy and Satt needs to give him more chances from the left hash since he keeps missing right
His make today was from the left. Misses from the right

Re: Kicking is an issue.
I'm not sure how much high school football you guys watch but I've seen many games and there are very few field goal attempts. The attempts that are made are typically not in front of up to 70,000 screaming fans. I hate the misses but we are talking about a 19 year old kid who is trying to do something fairly difficult under a lot of pressure. Geez take it easy. I agree, we will look back in a few years and say he was really good.NewApp wrote:In three years we'll be saying "what a fantastic kicker."bcoach wrote:Yep 18'-6 vs 23'-4 I never really paid attention to that before. Probably because the announcers kept calling him Rubino on that tackle until they were finally reviewing the play for targeting.

Re: Kicking is an issue.
I'm sure that is part of it but I knew that Critcher did kick offs. That announcer did get on my nerves. His "analysis" was really simplistic and his obvious Troy bias was annoying....at least for an App fan.BUTCH1991 wrote:Yosef84 wrote:Yeah...duh. Sorry. I don't know why I had Rubino in my head.
