I thought after a short week, let down, and a physical game with APP, they could lose...but not by this much! Win out and keep our heads down...

Am I right in thinking we need Arkansas State to lose twice, Troy to lose again, and us win out to be crowned outright and alone champs. If so, I don't see that happening.

I am just hoping ArkState looses once and we share....our boys still get a ring for that. The other scenario, like you said, is far fetched.

Please don't take this wrong I'm happy to be in the shape we are currently in, winning record with a bowl game coming. However, once again in the end, we failed to dot our i's and cross our t's. Hopefully, next season we can maintain our own destiny without having to depend on others. Third time is a charm.

Hopefully stAte will think they've already won the championship...or have a big game hangover like Troy apparently did and will stumble against ULL...LET'S GO CAJUNS!! Remember people, with the current format even if we won every conference game this year there'd still be a chance of sharing the championship and, quite frankly, I'm tired of hearing about it. Again, GO CAJUNS!

Watched the first half and neither team looked sharp. Troy offense looked like they were trying to use the passing game to open up the run instead of the other way around. stAte D did look good though. Second half must have been ugly.

If you looked at our history, you'd know that ULL was always the game to watch. History of AState/Troy is that the we always play them better than most in the league. History of AState/ULL is that the home team always wins...Big. Since 1990 the visiting team has won twice in that series. In 2012 and 2013 mind you, but only twice.

Fair to say not the same team. Just like us in 2014. We started 1-5 and finished 7-5.

Interesting, I hope history repeats itself...thanks for that info!

Can't help but wonder what stAte's season would look like if Southern hadn't blown that first conference game. Would they have still bounced back from 0-5? Or did that win give them the spark they needed?

I have thought the same thing. The long 4th down conversion may have turned their season around. You have to give a lot of credit to their players and coaches for righting the ship.

Maybe but there is still that fact. That cannot look good in the G5 rankings which affects payouts

Stop me if you've heard this one:

A Sun Belt team comes out of the gates strong against an FCS opponent before falling to a top-of-the-line Clemson team in game 2.

After that, they rock through some mid-major OOC games and a conference schedule until, 8 or 9 games in, they start to falter. They nearly drop one to a solid Sun Belt team, have a short week, and play hungover against Arkansas State on a Thursday night. Their hopes for a conference title fade (though don't disappear) as a stAte team that started the season slow heats up during conference play.

Maybe it's a little egotistical to view their season through the lens of what we went through, but I feel like we know exactly how Troy must feel right now.

Can App trade some teams (Texas St, GaSt and/or Idaho) off our schedule so that App can play all the best teams (stAte and Troy) in the league next season?

Someone was posting that we lose Troy next year in order to pick up CCU. Obviously, we need/want to play CCU moving forward but I really hate the idea of playing neither Arkansas State nor Troy....especially with GS playing badly. Our SOS will plummet.

Isn't that just an anamoly for next year? For 2018, the divisions will be set up with a championship game, right? The championship game will be fun, assuming we win our division.
