Play of the game?
A great game. Great offense vs defense. No turnovers, very few penalties. What was the turning point for app?
Rubino's go ahead FG?
Evans' return for TD?
Lamb's TD run?
D's 3 and out prior to the go ahead FG??

Re: Play of the game?
I would go with the runback but there were lots of big plays. The biggest might have been the missed field goal by Toledo.

It was Tony Washington. I believe in the postgame show they said it was in 2012.bigdaddyg wrote:When is the last kick return TD for any App team?

Re: Play of the game?
That sack, the tackle by Law for no gain, and the stop on 3rd down took away all the momentum they had after stopping the fake FG. Huge series by the D.AppDawg wrote:T-Sims sack.

I'm going to go with the last long Lamb run that and he bounced up to fire the team and crowd up.

The KO return for TD. I have seen a stat in the NFL that a team who scores a return TD (interception, punt, fumble, KO) wins 85% of the time. I would think it would be close to the same in CFB.

Hard choices with so many big plays...I have to agree with you on this play...Goapps15 wrote:Biggest play to me was the 3rd and 1 stop by John Law and Josh Thomas on their last drive!

Re: Play of the game?
Wow there are some really good defining plays to pick from. Top 5, in order?
5. Rubino's go ahead field goal
4. T. Simms sack
3. T. Lamb's long run, bounce up and fire up the crowd
2. Evan's kick return for a TD
1. J. Law stop on 3rd down to force a field goal attempt
I think all 5 plays had a huge impact on the outcome of the game, either literally on the scoreboard, or mentally for the team and the momentum.

Re: Play of the game?
Not sure if this counts as a "play" but how about the delay of game penalty Toledo took to back up his field goal kicker, right before he missed wide right?!?

Re: Play of the game?
Kickoff for TD was the biggest play of the game for us, but I really want to give it to Rubino. He missed one to start the season (X-point), but made the rest the entire year. Made the one chance he was given in the bowl game to put us a head. Think our FG kicker just grew up. He will be the best FG in App history 3 years from now.
