Re: NC Game
Maybe. But getting the Lane train out of town early was a good idea. Not sure Sark's the right guy - time will tell.

Re: NC Game
Kiffin was not focused on Alabama and a huge media distraction. Win or lose Saban doesn't put up with BS

Agreed. This old bird's having a tough time staying up.boonetown1 wrote:I hate how ESPN is drawing out this game. I mean, I get it, just hate it.
Looks like Clemson intends to win ...

Re: NC Game
I know the replays are intended to help with accuracy of calls. They sure do make the game drag though.

Re: NC Game
I was criticizing the clock management too, but it turned out to be perfect. Like most choices coaches make in sports, it's hero or zero. If they didn't get the TD, everyone would blame him for poor clock management, but now Swinney is a great coach and NC winner

Re: NC Game
I liked Boulware's props to the players that built the foundation of this team. He did his homework, saw him calling many plays as 'Bama lined up.

Is it just the beer (and snow day) telling me that we're one of the ten best teams in the country? I honestly believe we are.

Re: NC Game
Incredible game. Congrats Clemson. That was an all-time classic.
Though yes, the replays were too much.

In the voice of Mad Max and in all sincerity......If we don't finish in final poll at or inside the top 30.......I'm gonna be pissed off!

I am thinking it's the beer. Congrats to the Tigers! They are not skeered to play us and rep the Carolinas well.AppinVA wrote:Is it just the beer (and snow day) telling me that we're one of the ten best teams in the country? I honestly believe we are.

Re: NC Game
I don't even think the Super Bowl lasts as long as this game did...Rose Bowl was dumb long too.
Way too many reviews, and it's not just this game. I'd be in favor of three coaches challenges, with a time-out lost for a failed challenge. Challenge all turnovers and scores.

Re: NC Game
Every time someone sat down on the field there was a TV timeout also.
Back to my OP, yea I doubt Saban has ever second guessed himself and it was probably the right move. OC did not cost them the game. Their offense just was not their main weapon. Clemson did a good job of keeping Alabama defense on the field and took advantage of mismatches. In the end Watson bailed Dabo out like he has so many times this year. He is just a great QB and at the college level that wins. Clemson D is stout.
