Wouldn't have really liked that but I think technically we'll have 7 home games the year we play in Charlotte and right now I'll take the money over the "respect" of an even series. DG is doing a damn good job during his time here.

[quote="RollNeers"]This guy is comparing WVU, VT, and UNC going to ECU to them coming to Boone. Their lack of self awareness is comical[/
Pretty arrogant for a team that only beat 2 FBS teams this year, one of which went 3-9 (UConn), and of course they boosted their egos with a lopsided flogging of the Cullowhee boys.

"Wednesday, the schools agreed to a three-game series that will include a game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte."

If this is right it is only a three game series.

Eh, that's now how I read it. He's telling people they should be OK with it. Sounds like he's being reasonable.RollNeers wrote:This guy is comparing WVU, VT, and UNC going to ECU to them coming to Boone. Their lack of self awareness is comical

Re: ECU vs APP
Bret's story only says a football series. Whoever wrote the caption under the photo (not Bret) added the part about a three-game series. I believe the caption is incorrect.TheMoody1 wrote:"Wednesday, the schools agreed to a three-game series that will include a game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte."

I'm guessing they've updated since you posted:TheMoody1 wrote:"Wednesday, the schools agreed to a three-game series that will include a game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte."

If this is right it is only a three game series.
"Appalachian State and East Carolina have agreed to a football series that will begin at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte and conclude with three on-campus games.
There will be two games in Greenville and one in Boone."
Basically, sounds like we'll be playing the BofA game in lieu of a "money game" at a P5.

Re: ECU vs APP
So, ponder this. IF the announced series has the game in Boone for the 2021 season, our home schedule will consist of:
ECU
Marshall
Georgia Southern
How. Freakin'. Awesome. Is that?!!?!!

For people saying they disapproved of a move up because they would "miss familiar opponents," how about that?AppDawg wrote:So, ponder this. IF the announced series has the game in Boone for the 2021 season, our home schedule will consist of:

Re: ECU vs APP
***Rant warning***
These dipsh!ts from Pitt County Community College are the most dillusional fans in the Southeast. Not only does their team suck. But outside of the nursing program their degrees are worthless. I've been a hiring manager for 15+ years and I have only found 2 schools that I refuse to hire from: Wichita State and ECU. They're "graduates" are terribly unprepared and even after they've turned 30 are still more interested in getting drunk/smoking pot than they are doing quality work. I've told my children they're allowed to go to any school they want, except ECU. In addition to the reasons above, Pitt County is NC's other armpit, (Fayetteville). As for their football program: thinking they're above playing App is laughable. Your program is in shambles and you're so strung out on crank you think the ACC or Big 12 would be interested in adding your crappy town & school to their conference. But most junkies think they've got their stuff together and it's everyone else with the problem. So celebrate your nursing school and I'll look forward to 4 W's in the coming years, one in front of 75,000 screaming Mountaineer fans.
I say all of this and my own brother went to school there. And I'm excited about the signing of this series, because it's another instate game. Nice work DG!

Re: ECU vs APP
Within 10 years of the move App will host Miami, Wake, ECU, Marshall, S. Miss., and have a neutral site game in Charlotte vs. ECU.MtnMan09 wrote:For people saying they disapproved of a move up because they would "miss familiar opponents," how about that?AppDawg wrote:So, ponder this. The only thing more impressive than our scheduling since the move is how quickly the team has adjusted on the field.

Funny, I refer to Franklin, NC as the armpit of WNC....

http://charlottesports.org/news/wake-fo ... a-stadium/
I had not realized that The Charlotte Sports Foundation had also arranged for WF future game visit in 2020 with ND to be played in Charlotte as well. WF also will play 6 games in BB&T Groves Stadium that year.
Having 6 games in Boone and having this be the "pay the bills" game is awesome. Will we make over a $1mm on this game?
Does anyone know how much we make per home game? It would have to be in the $500k range based on 15k sold tickets at $30 pop plus concessions.
