It is interesting to me that UNCCH has consecutive away dates in 2025 to Boone and then to Atlanta to visit Turner Field.

It is more likely that App would get the death penalty for scheduling them.

Wake, Carolina, ECU, and to a much lesser degree, Charlotte. Duke & State - you're on the clock. Don't be last. Who's next?

Nobody outside the realm of rival schools' message boards is even entertaining that as a possibility.

What IS plausible is that they might be weakened by additional scholarship reductions.

I am happy it is a instate game, within driving distance to the majority of the fanbase, against the cheating flagship. If we win the majority or God forbid sweep them.......Oh my, kiss all of these types of series good bye...

LOL, you can't be serious. UNC not only has ACC status but they are *gulp* an ACC school and the flagship school in our state and university system. It's kind of a really big deal, the biggest home/home in our history as far as I know.

We haven't ever beat them, so I would pump the brakes on the sweep. Also "those types of series" are here to stay.

This punishment is not even on the table, under the table, or anywhere else - as someone mentioned, possibly some scholarship losses

I couldn't tell if you were being facetious or not, but if the Nittany Lions didn't, there's no way the Tar Holes would.

The loss of athletic scholarships likely won't hurt them. They'll just award bogus academic scholarships in their place. That's what the so-called non-scholarship colleges do.

That has to my knowledge never happened at any school that lost scholarships due to NCAA probation, including UNC.

Chapel Hell has had Morehead Scholars on their team in the past. So, yes, it has happened.

I am not surprised. You have to have someone to read the playbook to the rest of the team.

Actually it was 1940. September 21 according to College Football Data Warehouse.

I just took a look at the stink message board.. I think they've come up with every excuse in the book as to why they can't schedule like us in football. And apparently the UNC series is dumb financially, Miami fell right out of the sky and into our laps, and Wake barely fields a gridiron team.. Definitely worth a read if you want a few laughs!

Yep, delusional. Didn't realize that the game would have been with GaSo instead of us if they hadn't had to play a conference game. Never mind that the game was agreed to in November before the Sun Belt schedule was announced the following March.

Not denying that there's ever been a Morehead Scholar play football at UNC in school history. But they didn't have anyone on academic scholarship to get around scholarship reductions. That's just fiction.

According to our media guide, it was 1940, but Sept 20th. We lost 56-6. At least we scored on them. Big deal though because we lost to Elon, Rollins by a 30 point shut out, and Lenoir Rhyne. We were 6-4 that year and were 2-2 in the North State Conference. Now if we had played them in 1937, when we were undefeated and unscored on in the regular season, it might have been a competitive game.

How do you know it is fiction? Evidently you have more faith in the integrity of UNC-CH athletics than most of us on this board.
