Time for some BBQ discussions
This topic has been pretty much left to cool on the back burner for some time. With summer approaching and the long wait until football camp opens I thought I'd let everyone stew over this article. The author makes some good points.

We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

Well I had a brown chopped sandwich from the Monk for lunch today. It doesn't get any better than that.

A lot of people who travel up and down 321 are pretty familiar with Hannah's in Lenoir but there is a better and lesser known joint less than 2 miles away called Hog Wild BBQ. Up until just recently they were only a drive thru but they've moved to a full sit down restaurant.
JD's Smokehouse is great too, it's about 20 minutes south of L.A. down Connelly Springs Rd in Rutherford College.

We actually have a great little place in Rock Hill called the Dixie Pig. Appman and I have sampled their goods and it's darn good.

Re: Time for some BBQ discussions
"BBQ is like sex"....it's like sex but better. Here's why...you think about Q all the time...you'll try different styles and the flavor of your choosing. You get anxious just before you eat Q because you worry that someone might get there earlier before you and eat your Q! Most don't share their Q. You make loud guttural sounds when enjoying your Q. When you think you've had enough, you still take one more bite like it's the last Q you'll ever have. As soon as you leave and walk out your favorite Q's door, you're already thinking about when you can come back again. Lastly, as you are about to leave after finishing...YOUR Q DOESNT ASK YOU IF YOU TOOK OUT THE TRASH!!!!!! And that...my dear friends, is why Q is better than sex!

Re: Time for some BBQ discussions
Lexington BBQ = "then monk"
That and woodlands totally different styles. Being from lexington originally, there is no comparrison between the 2 styles.
Personally I like the BBQ center a little better than the monk. Speedy's and Backcountry are also really good

I grew up less than half a mile from the Monk (Lexington BBQ). When the wind was just right...

My very first public job was as a curb boy at the BBQ Center in Lexington at age 15.
