Almost 300 pages, so I bought one even though it's a $25 paper back.

I love the press of that big event but I am really ready for some NEW history to be made by this current team.

I'm not sure anything less than winning the National Championship will ever top that accomplishment ---AtlAppMan wrote:I love the press of that big event but I am really ready for some NEW history to be made by this current team.

Lots of new information in this book - both about the game and the lives of many of the key players. Exhaustively researched with over 50 original interviews of players, coaches, fans, training staff, and even the band director.WVAPPeer wrote:I'm not sure anything less than winning the National Championship will ever top that accomplishment ---AtlAppMan wrote:I love the press of that big event but I am really ready for some NEW history to be made by this current team.

If you are going to purchase this on Amazon then use the smile URL and set it up to send a small amount to the App State Foundation.

It is only 0.5% but it can add up.

I notice that you're one of the authors. What prompted a Georgia State fan to write a book about App State years after the event (yesterday in my minddmarmins wrote:Appalachian State Silences the Big House: Behind the Greatest Upset in College Football History just released by McFarland & Company Publishers. That truly was a game for the record books. I'm glad we decided it was worth going to see. It will be eons before that memory fades!

Re: Book out about App team that beat Michigan!
I have no connection to either App or Michigan. I am actually a Pittsburgh native (and fan) that moved to Atlanta for school and stayed. This just looked like a great story that had not been written. My favorite part was interviewing the players and their families and learning how such a diverse group of people came together as a team. I spent 4-6 hours initially with most of the players and then followed up with phone calls to them and many who knew them. The most interesting coach was actually Speir, who told me a lot about their recruiting philosophy (speed and character) and their game plan for Michigan. Hope you like it.DaphneUrquhart wrote:I notice that you're one of the authors. Reading it now and am about at the end of the third quarter. Fantastic! Well structured and written and full of little behind the scenes tidbits that give great insight on what made this team so special. Great read.

You can get the Nook version at Barnes and Noble. I am not sure about the photos and graphics - I know the Kindle version has them though.
