Re: Gold helmets this week
How many different helmets do we have? Those buggers have to cost at least $200 apiece.bcoach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2017 5:28 pmA block A is meant to be white. God created the block A to be white. It has been recorded down through the ages that the helmet is to be black. The coming together of the white block A and the black helmet is just perfection. It is just the way things were meant to be. We should not disturb perfection
This week we will wear the yellow helmet and it will be fine to stray from what is right and just ever so often, but we MUST I say MUST return to the perfection of the almighty white block A on the black helmet.
I like the black helmet with white block A for all games.

I am sure you have better seats for this weekend. I predict this weekend's helmets/unis will be quite visible from anywhere in the stadium, Howard's Knob, and perhaps even outer space.

I have a feeling that it is going to be that edgy "IN" Yosef that we saw a few years back. I saw in a video a few days back that the players were wearing the logo on their warmup gear.

Re: Gold helmets this week
isn't that logo actually an ESPN product? I'm not sure what the rule would be about App wearing that logo but my guess is we see an actual "official" logo.

Re: Gold helmets this week
Any logo would belong to us I would think. ESPN wouldn't have rights to a school logo.
Also it's amazing to me how much chatter is created when it comes to uniform changes/modifications, not just here at App but at any school.

Re: Gold helmets this week
I don't believe that is correct. ESPN created the stylized version of the Yosef logo referenced above for a promo. They created logos for other schools using this same general style. I believe they retain the rights to that specific logo. I'm not sure how that is coordinated with the University but you won't find that one for sale at any of the stores in Boone because it isn't licensed by the university and is not listed among the "official" logos. Both Victory Yosef and the "Floating Head" logos remain "official" logos.

ESPN created one of those for every FBS school, all in a similar style. They aren't "school logos." Don't know the specific legal agreement, but I don't know any reason to expect we'd use it on our uniforms.Yosef84 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2017 1:55 pmI don't believe that is correct. Those slots make it look like something from Star Wars.

Re: Gold helmets this week
Are the slots on these helmets designed for air circulation / cooling, or is that part of the shock absorption design to allow more "give?"

Re: Gold helmets this week
I believe they are new "shock absorbers" - ones over the last couple of years have had a panel in the front crown area and I had heard that new ones would have front, top and back - First time I have seen a picture of one ---
