Re: UNH vs Stink
I think we're going to need to find another rival to hate...if GS can't handle FCS teams at this point they're not worthy of our attention. Shall we start interviewing replacements? Perhaps Wake, or ECU when that gets re-started? Wait...ECU can't handle FCS teams either.

We need another can'tamount team to flog yearly. Maybe that's GaSo.

Re: UNH vs Stink
From what I've seen, I think GaSo has a culture problem under Summers.
Player-wise, their down year was supposed to be this year. If they went 8-4 last year, then Summers is fine. However, since he wasted their talent last year and all that talent graduated, he's sitting on the sun.
Summers' buyout this season is 900k. And they lost home game revenue this past week, which is a big deal. Unless someone ponies up, Summers' legit resigns or they finish with 10 or more losses, he'll be the coach in 2018.

Re: UNH vs Stink
I think we all love the idea of making Wake an annual game. We flog them twice in a row I doubt that happens. We have two really good sell out games and split them it's pretty hard for either administration (and I really mean theirs) to say no to playing every year.

I don't know if we need another "rival" like that, but it may be a while before the stink crawls out of the hole they have dug themselves into.

Re: UNH vs Stink
I don't really think that's their issue TBH. For one thing, people exaggerated how many jucos they were signing and how much they were leaning on them for production.
But more importantly, their problems are 1) They hired an unqualified HC, who then hired unqualified offensive staff, 2) They failed to tailor their offense to the players they inherited, and 3) They're now stuck with not enough players after multiple offensive system changes have cause guys to leave the program.
Also, don't forget how Fritz gutted their '16 recruiting class once he got to Tulane.

They may well have a culture problem. They definitely have a "terrible coaching" problem.T-Dog wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2017 8:00 pmFrom what I've seen, I think GaSo has a culture problem under Summers.

Summers is their Jason Capel.

I'm just glad it didn't affect our football program. Capel as bad as he was did not affect our money maker.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2017 10:56 pmThey may well have a culture problem. Re: UNH vs Stink
I hate Ga. southern as much as anybody, but let's not bask too much in their misery.
Remember, it was just a few years ago when we were losing to FCS teams and didn't know if our new coach had what it takes to be a HC.
Also, I'm afraid we will be looking to replace a HC in the next couple of years and you never know how the new coach's schemes will work out with the talent on the existing team, and we will lose out on at least 1-2 recruiting classes which could set the program back for a while.
My biggest criticism of the stink is they get impatient and fire a coach after 1-2 bad seasons before he gets a chance to get his players in his system to truly see what kind of coach he is.
The last thing the Sunbelt needs is another pathetic team.

Yes, the future is uncertain. One day the shoe could be on the other foot. Insert your platitude of choice here.
All the more reason to enjoy the moment. I say bask away.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves with Wake just yet. Let's get a win this season first and see what happens.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2017 8:15 pmI think we all love the idea of making Wake an annual game. Mr. Hubris is actually me-McLeansvilleAppFan. I took the time to make a brand new Gmail account so I could register Mr. Hubris on YC. It ended up taking a lot longer than I thought it would since I was on my wife's tablet, and typing was not easy. I was too far in before I realized the amount of time it was going to take, but there is no backing out for Mr. Hubris, he will never get his comeuppance.Rick83 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2017 7:28 amAhhh Mr. Hubris...hubris has been the downfall of many men (and teams).Mr. Hubris wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2017 8:13 pmThis will never happen to App football. I am glad someone noticed the name. (And I don't feel the way of my alter-ego. I appreciate what we have and know we may not always be here with football, as much as I want that to not be true.)
Now that I explained the joke I am sure the humor is gone.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

I assumed that someone had set that profile up specifically for the post and wondering who might have done that. Kudos on the well executed joke.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2017 5:49 pmMr. Hubris is actually me-McLeansvilleAppFan.
