They clearly have struggled to find offensive consistency. Would like to think our defense will add to their difficulties.MarxistMountaineer wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 11:48 pmI didn't realize that, and that is an interesting stat considering Colorado had a solid run game last year if I'm not mistaken. The reason I feel good about this game though is I just see no way they're consistently moving the ball against us. As long as we don't turn it over a lot I can't imagine them scoring much against us, if any at all.hapapp wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 8:32 pmPerhaps, but they held Colorado to 91 yards on 41 rushing attempts. So, thus far they apparently have been capable of stopping the run.MarxistMountaineer wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2017 1:55 pmColorado destroyed them and they snuck by some school I've never heard of 20-11. They still suck

Random thought: with Withers installing what sounds like mirrors of App's O and D, I wonder is he is trying to get a feel for what we are doing now, in hopes of trying to jump to App as HC if Satt leaves? He could use "seamless" transition of play style as a pitch for the job.

He may have a rough road to hoe in The High Country. He pissed a lot of the App State fanbase last year when he said he wished he could've gone to UNC but had to "settle" for App. I'm paraphrasing here, but that was the gist of his comment.mtnjax wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2017 11:24 am'Neers 34

Why would we want him? He's been a decent recruiter there so far but has done nothing substantial to show that program is anywhere close to turning around.mtnjax wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2017 11:24 am'Neers 34

If Satterfield leaves this year we should go all in on Mike Houston. That's probably getting less and less realistic by the week and he could land a much bigger job possibly. If not him just give it to Woody who's honestly earned it imo. Also people talk about how Satterfield loves it here and might not would ever leave. That's just silly he's like 45 and one of the lowest paid coaches in CFB. If a bigger school comes calling (inevitable) he's gone. Now Woody on the other hand is quickly approach 60. If he were to get the job and find success he could be a guy that doesn't want to ever leave, and he could be a coach for the long term.
Anyways I'm getting way ahead of myself lol

Re: Official Boko prediction thread
Doubt it. Remove personal sentiment for App - of which I don't think he has a particularly large amount - and that's not much better than a lateral move. Withers has spent most of his career in the P5 or NFL. I think he wants one more shot at a high-profile job.mtnjax wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2017 11:24 am'Neers 34

Re: Official Boko prediction thread
I don't think that you rationale is off, but after listening to the B&G podcast the other day I am of the opinion that he is here at least 5 more years. If I remember correctly, didn't he just sign a 5 year extension? That 5 years coincides with his youngest daughter being in 8th grade and will be graduating in 5 years. I know money talks, but anyone who has teenage daughters will tell you, uprooting them at this stage of life is catastrophic to them. I'm not saying that i am right, but in 5 years he will be 50 and relatively young enough to get a high profile gig.MarxistMountaineer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2017 3:30 pmWhy would we want him?
