Hennigan is a stud! I can see best WR ever potential in him. Great attitude too. Met him after the SSU game. Confident kid.

Re: Positives from yesterday's game
I agree that Hennigan has the potential to be one of the greatest wide receivers ever at App. He's amazingly polished for a true freshman and we got a steal with him. I'm predicting freshman of the year in the Sunbelt
Re: Positives from yesterday's game
Taylor had a great game. Several times right on the money and recerver hands were not working. He played smart. The flea flicker was very enjoyable and he didn't sacrifice yards when something wasn't there.
Wake's tailgate on Sanford Mall had some nice wine and cheese and more golf shirts than I've ever seen in one place.

Another positive in that Lamb has a week to heal. He was wincing on every hit he took. There's no way he's healthy. And now he had two weeks to heal. So does Jalin and so does Meadors.

Re: Positives from yesterday's game
No doubt. Our toughest test is the next game, but luckily we have an extra week to heal and prepare. GS is never easy, but they're so out of wack right now I'm not sure they will bring it like usual.

Re: Positives from yesterday's game
Was really concerned about him at the GA game, caught 2 punts inside the 5 there. Have not seen that since. Seems to have corrected that. Reminds me of Matt Cline in some ways. Just gets open and catches it when thrown to him. He is fun to watch and is the silver lining with the 1 and 2 receivers being out.

Totally agree, Rek. The whole team played well, and we were well coached. None of us, including myself, should be blaming any individual or coach.

The way he's playing you could argue that our #2 and 3 receivers are out...

as far as I'm concerned #5 has earned the right to start the next 48 games!JohnnyBurrito wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2017 6:39 amApp91 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2017 9:43 pmWas really concerned about him at the GA game, caught 2 punts inside the 5 there. Re: Positives from yesterday's game
The team played their hearts out. That was one of the most efforts I have seen from them in many years. The offense really played well and mixed up plays throughout game. The defense played lights out throughout game. The ONLY negative is the numerous penalties and that will cost you games against any better opponent. We do have to get our special teams cleaned up. However, our team played their butts off and I am proud of them even though they lost. They know what happened.

So many positives from Saturday, The crowd, the atmosphere, weather and the heart and effort from our team.
I often worry in a loss if we had many recruits watching the game but even in this case if we did they have to be impressed by our atmosphere and game day environment.!

Re: Positives from yesterday's game
It was great to see the App's passing game finally go downfield with success. The defense played their butts off and unfortunately App's special teams made 3 key mistakes: 2 blocked kicks and the offsides on the WF punt that extended a TD drive. The drives at the end of the half and at the end of the game were beautiful...then we missed both kicks. App played with heart and determination and should have won the game. Now play like that against the Belt and win a Championship.

Re: Positives from yesterday's game
I will say, I have been the first to dog us in these type of games. And frankly I did not think it would be close based on our injuries and Texas State performance. With that being said. Wow.
1. While there were some head scratchers, the play calling was much improved, was not (from what I could tell) predictable, and for those of us who wanted the playbook open, man was it.
2. Lamb looked like a leader and gutted it out all day. Proved he could throw more than 6 yards, even with what looked to be a bum shoulder. Begs the question why we don't call on him to do this more.
3. Hennigan. Going to be a monster. I watched a true freshman get completely crushed on a PR. Stand up look the guy who rung his bell in the eye, hand the ball to the ref, and go line up to catch a one handed pass the very next play. He is going to be very special for us.
4. Defense. Putting with 2 minutes left and counting on your d to stop an ACC offense in three downs was a risk and they came up big. That's about as clutch a performance as Ive seen from our defense in a long long time. They belonged out there on the field all day and that was incredibly exciting to see. Take out the two blown plays in the redzone to Dortsch and it was almost flawless.
5. Crowd. We did a pretty good job of keeping most people in the seats after halftime and they remained into the game the whole day. Hereing the App State cheer echo around the stadium was impressive.
6. Respect. Say what you want about how its perceived just as another loss outside of NC, I don't care. We need to win the State before we win the country. The fact that those Wake players were celebrating after the block liked they beat FSU said something to me and it should to you too. I've already had an old State grad and an old UNC grad come into my office today lamenting on our tough break and admiring how good we looked. We keep building and we win some of these "winnable" in state games coming up in the next few years and Ill be a very happy man.

Re: Positives from yesterday's game
Considering the place was a complete sell out, it's doubtful many recruits were in attendance (at least not as true guests). Hopefully many were watching on ESPN3.Deano wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2017 8:35 amSo many positives from Saturday, The crowd, the atmosphere, weather and the heart and effort from our team.

Re: Positives from yesterday's game
This Wake team is the fastest all around (offense and defense) of any team since we faced Florida A& M years ago. They stayed with our receivers step for step and their rush was superb.
